"Lanson Place in Melbourne is an extremely nice hotel. I was pleasantly surprised on all accounts. The hotel lobby/lounge is beautifully designed, the rooms are also very well appointed with beautiful views and the gym is especially nice!"

"A lot of pros and cons with this place. Very upscale and the room was spacious and modern. The location is excellent. On the other hand, the room design was a bit odd. Bathroom not truly separate from the bed area (sliding thin panels) and there was street noise. A lot of non-guests frequent the hotel so it was busy but not in a good way. Services, like the cafe, were closed during our entire stay of four nights. Weird for a hotel at this price and expected caliber. I liked it okay but my wife...

"Great overall stay! Did find the bathroom sink far too small though and each time using it would need to mop up the water on the floor. Breakfast was excellent at the Venom Brewery. One suggestion would be to get a professional coffee machine. Found coffee to be sub par for Melbourne standards. Enjoyed tasting some great beers and loved the spicy wings. Will definitely stop in again next time in Melbourne."

"The hotel is lovely. Traditional and well equipped. The only reason it’s not a 5* review is a couple of areas that fell short. In the gym, not all of the equipment is working which means access is difficult at busy times. We only ate in the hotel for breakfast on the day we checked out and were greeted with a confused look when explaining we don’t want the buffet but instead wanted to order from the à la carte menu. The food took a while to come (which we were advised) but when it did, sausages...

"The standout are the staff and Collins place breakfast. Rooms were loud as you could hear others in their rooms and bathrooms. Very warm room and aircon don’t seem to work. Could hear lifts move up and down despite being a few rooms away. Bed was comfortable."

"Reception staff were terrible at check in time. If you can, avoid checking in at 2pm. There were almost 10 parties waiting to check in and there was no system to identify who was waiting first. There was only 1 staff at the check in table at 2pm. Staff told some patrons to sit and wait while new patrons stood in line.
