The property is in a good location and has a lot of potential if cleaned and dusted well. Being a wellness and spa, this property could really benefit from serving fresh food and serve exactly what is on the menu so it doesn’t confuse the customers. The Quality of the food let’s it all down otherwise our stay was very relaxing. I am a qualified masseuse myself and I will have to say that Megan is very good and Sophie has been very helpful. Also the manager has been very understanding and I hope she makes the necessary changes that will make a difference.

overall the building was lovely reception stunning staff efficient room was lovely absolutely sufficient quiet setting in a village room iron and board trouser press fan safe and small fridge which was a god send we didn’t use the pool or sauna lots of building work going on all around. 3 complaints my daughter paid extra for a bigger bed the bases were separate as were the mattresses nothing to hold them together so kept coming apart thru the night sheets didn’t fit the bed properly soon as you moved they came away from the bed 1 mattress was completely insufficient in support and you dipped in the middle and slopes down to the floor from the middle onwards the pole in the shower was dirty and at one end was supported by folded cardboard so it fit the space my daughter is 18 works 2 evenings a week and booked this stay as a treat for my birthday feeling gutted she spent nearly 140 pounds the breakfasts were very good selection but mostly luke warm at best the most important part of the stay was the sleep and i didn’t have a good one i will be calling the hotel direct to make a complaint

Soundproofing Needed

The corridor and rooms are far too noisy. The air conditioning didn’t work. The breakfast room was filled with builders taking huge amounts of food. The bathrooms were tatty and when moved to Executive Room the bed and pillows were as hard as anything and super uncomfortable. The linens were good, very good. As were the bathroom accessories like shampoo and conditioner etc. They now don’t offer razor pack so remember yours. A lot of work is happening at the hotel, you do not hear it but hopefully the upgrade will sort out my stated tattiness. Staff very help, polite and understanding. Breakfast selection is stunningly good. Don’t like the fact of having to book a time for breakfast or the pool rather than just going when you want, but that’s COVID and hopefully it will change. Parking is lovely, as are the lifts and there are lots of antibacterial gel dispensers around. If the rooms can be more soundproofed the hotel is a winner but loudmouth guest’s who are selfish spoiled it for us.

LOvely hotel with moth problem

The hotel is a little worn . very quiet setting , stunning views. Lovely staff members , lovely pool . The matress in room was way to soft and uncomfortable . the room was infested with moths and hotel failed to tell us even though they knew about the problem

Nice stay….

Overall a really nice stay, staff were really lovely… We were previously informed regarding the building work etc so that wasn’t a problem, the only thing that spoilt it a little was that the steam room and the Jacuzzi were both not working, really important to us as we were only looking to chill around the pool during our stay 😤. PS Excited to go again once fully refurbished !!!

Buffet breakfast only - no menu, so no chance to order porridge or, say, an omelette. Otherwise a good buffet. Hotel is apparently about to undergo a major refurbishment.

Staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was good. The spa facilities were extremely disappointing and the bathroom was very dated; the tap was leaking and spraying water when turned on.

Chill out

The site is undergoing major upgrades and is about to close for a couple of months to allow this to happen. So allowing for that, we had a brilliant time. Understandably some things were not available or restricted, due to the works, but what we had we enjoyed. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, the food and drink was wonderful and the staff were out of this world. They all made our stay. Friendly, helpful, accommodating and entertaining. To name a few; Oliver, Ben, Omar, John, Mr Cooper (in the lounge bar,) and the young lady in the spa, all were magnificent and a credit to your company.

We were a little apprehensive as the reviews were not good at all. But we really enjoyed our stay from the spa to the facilities and the staff were lovely. We used the restaurant and the food was of good quality. The only down side was the temperature of the room, it was very hot and we hardly slept, when we did finally get to sleep the fire alarm went off in the hotel. We tried adjusting the temperature but it's fixed at this through the winter months.

A week's stay, thoroughly recommendable.

Thoroughly comfortable: spotlessly clean: good, attentive staff: excellent food: pool, spa pool, spa treatments sooo good. Could The Village accommodation have some wall coat hooks in the entrance hall? A detail worthy of note.

Probably wouldn't go again

No steaks on menu was a big negative for me.. Then was told my next choice seabass had run out only an hour into meal time. The relaxing spa was a bit ruined by loud annoying children. Apart from that room was basic but comfortable.

Spa break

Enjoyed a relaxing time at Five Lakes, the spa and treatments were good and the staff were very friendly. Ideal spot to visit local attractions.

Pleasant hotel

Hotel is very nice, room comfortable and reasonably clean. Breakfast was good but i had to make tea in my room using the free teabags because they served tea in an urn already brewed and therefore too strong and not hot enough. Otherwise there was plenty of choice of hot food, pastries, bread, cereal and fruit. We had an evening meal which took an hour to arrive and then some of it was cold, i actually bit into a frozen vegetable! The table next to us also had uncooked chicken. Staff were good though, apologised and we got a big discount on the meal. The swimming pool was very good. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Staff friendly and helpful from manager downwards. Rooms pleasant. Sports area and equipment was unclean and old. Didn’t get much information at check in about facilities and no information pack in room. Food great and service excellent.

Needs refurb

Only stayed one night for an event. Staff very nice and good service. Food was good. But the whole place needs a refurb. Our room (305) needs redecoration, balcony falling apart, and doors let in the cold so need curtains closed to keep warm. Wouldn't go back or recommend

Relaxing, Spacious and friendly

Lovely Stay at Five Lakes, Shame it was for business as leisure facilities. Plenty of space to park a Van. Its tricky to find at first, and the roads reminded me of Devon:-),, alot of roads closed close by some my Sat Nav sent me miles around, But Hotel Wise its beautiful and wil l be back.

Overnight spa break

The overnight stay was lovely. Brilliant customer service from check in (Imogen) to dinner (Daisy) Great to have a twin room with double beds! Jess did a wonderful massage. The only Downfall I sadly have to feedback and that both myself and my boyfriend booked in and paid for a 45 minute treatment each however they were both about 30 minutes in total which was disappointing.
