"We had the BEST time at Ella Retreat! Sadly on 34 hours long but this hotel is seriously beautiful, better than the pictures. "The worst hotel in the entire universe..toilet smelling..gave used soap wrapped in tissue, no fridge, no vanity, broken shower head, to go to toilet, have to cross wet shower floor, flies sitting all over breakfast food, no tissue, no face towel, no hand towel, reception did not talk, did not provide any information, asked bell boy about dinner, he said buffe, but when went to restaurant, no buffe..only fried rice and pasture..had to abandon the restaurant and went for dinner in the town. "We stayed at this delightful mountain cabin in Ella. It hangs off the mountain, faces directly west for the perfect sunset between two peaks. The view is breathtaking. The pictures do not do the tiniest bit of justice. It's a brand new cottage with 2 seperate units. One with a bedroom + loft sleeps 4 people. The other is a two bedroom. The only downside to this place is getting there.. some steel hills, big vehicles cannot go. Tuk Tuks... that struggle to get up the hill or walk. It's worth it...

"We are a Group of 7 from Singapore and we had a Fantastic time at the Villa! Great Chef that does excellent local food. A Villa Manager that organizes everything you ask for. A owner that cares and checks in with us if our stay was alright! Definitely coming back. "

"This is a villa converted to a hotel. The have only 4 rooms. The description is misleading. Too expensive. Does not worth it. It should not be rated more than 1 star! The view from the room (Delox twin) is totally obstructed. It smells terrible!"

"It was a bit far from the downtown area. But not an issue for us because we have a driver. They have driver's room, but not at the same place. It was one of the best stay for us in the 2 weeks trip. Highly recommend it. The only downside is the hotel is a bit hard to locate. Its up on the hill with a very narrow street. It was quite a challenge when we had a mini van to drive up the alley. "
