- This large Tuscan farmhouse style house set on 5 acres (4 acres which is bush block) close to the Bunya Mountains and surrounding townships. Bring a group of friends and sit around the firepit and stargaze (the night sky is beyond great), plan a pizza night and cook on the Italian wood cooker, help yourself to veg/herbs in season in the garden, sit on the large verandah and watch the birdlife - they all love the fountain in summer, or go for a bush walk on the developing trails in the back paddock.
The Bunyas Mountains, with the largest natural stand of Bunya pines in the world, is just 30 minutes drive from your front door. The Kingaroy Observatory (Kingaroy is also the peanut capital of Australia) and the Blacbutt Pie shop ( winner of best pies in Queensland in 2025) all just 30 minutes drive away (in different directions). Coomba Falls - with its cool waterhole and rope swings, rock formations and special history, is just 2 kms from The Refec in the little township of Maidenwell. A quick 20 minutes down the Cooyar range will get you to the famous Cooyar Pub. Take a long week-end - starting Thursday - so you can go to Parmy night at the Cooyar Pub.
