Wombat Edge is a contemporary country retreat set on 10 picturesque acres in sunny Lyonville. Accommodating up to 9 guests, the property features 3 bedrooms with king beds (convertible to singles) and two sofa beds across the studio and living room. Surrounded by stunning gardens and a spring-fed lake teeming with wildlife, the property also provides bikes for exploring the scenic Victorian countryside. Cycle to nearby Trentham and visit the historic RedBeard Bakery for a glimpse into traditional culinary practices.

Inside, Wombat Edge offers airy, open-plan spaces filled with natural light. The living and dining areas seamlessly blend rustic charm with modern touches, featuring hardwood floors, a woodfire coonara, and a plush grey couch. The kitchen is fully equipped, with sleek grey stone countertops and a spacious dining table perfect for group meals. Bedrooms showcase rich colour palettes, practical furniture, and split-system heating and cooling for year-round comfort.

Outdoors, the property boasts a patio with a verandah, BBQ, and seating area overlooking the gardens and lake. Guests can swim, canoe, or simply relax while enjoying the peaceful surroundings and frequent wildlife sightings.

Cannot wait to go back for another family trip

Our stay at Wombat edge was simply the best . From my parents in law to my nephew, everyone enjoyed the stay so much. The beautiful environment that the property provides is just perfect for a family trip. Will book again for sure .

Wonderful retreat

This property gives more than advertised. It is in a stunning setting with own lake. Kayak to take out with life vests. Perfect playground for kids under supervision. Fully functioning kitchen, BBQ and woodfire pizza oven. Local pub 700 mtrs away so an easy walk. Just beautiful. Gardens are beautiful creating a relaxing environment to unwind in. Thanks.

Magical … home away from home

Wombat Edge encompasses so much … warmth, comfort, style, stunning wildlife. A perfect hideaway, yet close to Trentham, Daylesford for a nostalgic wander. We went into town for brekky but couldn’t wait to get back to Wombat Edge to enjoy the ambience of the fire pit, lake and open fireplace. Definitely a perfect getaway destination.

The perfect wedding weekend property

The best looking property in town! A picturesque backdrop for my wedding photos with the most relaxing surroundings that made our weekend amazing. The beautiful wildlife and lake made it easy to sit outside in the cold and watch on as the kangaroos grazed throughout the misty morning. We can't wait to book again and make use of the lake in summer. Thanks so much for having us, it honestly made our weekend perfect.

Total relaxation surrounded by beautiful scenery

Our family had a wonderful long weekend at Wombat Edge. We arrived to a beautifully clean and welcoming home. Little lamps and cosy rugs in every room. It made for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The owners had thought of everything from games to books, bikes, cricket bats, tennis rackets and even a canoe and little boat to use on the lake. The surrounding gardens were wonderfully kept. We didn’t see our children for most of the day on Saturday as they had so many things to keep them active outside including a basketball ring! The love is definitely in the detail and that’s what you get when you stay at Wombat Edge. Thankyou 😊
