Enjoy the best of the Ausable River Valley & Huron National Forest

  • Clean, Cozy and Perfectly Decorated, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Cabin bordering the Huron National Forest.... just a short walk to the Scenic Big Creek. We are centrally located to all points of interest in Oscoda County.
    You will be pleased to find a host of basic amenities. This is the perfect place to unplug from your busy life and enjoy watching the various wildlife and many bird species right out your window, relax, read a book and don't forget a quiet starry night campfire. Your stay can include many outdoor activities, such as: visiting the large neighboring Amish community with their tidy farms and unique stores, fishing, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, ATV riding, hiking, scenic overlooks and much more. We find that when many of our guests arrive they prefer to just stay and enjoy the very unique, quiet and natural surroundings.

    This Cabin is an Adult Only Rental. We welcome 3 night minimum stays as well as weekly rentals.

    * One of our main goals is to keep guests costs at a minimum. We do not charge a cleaning fee and you will not see a " Host Fee" when you finalize your booking. For everyone's convenience fiberoptic wifi is available. There is a Verizon Cell tower in our Village of Luzerne. We provide an up to date T.V. and D.V.D. player so bring your favorite movies and connectivity devices along.

    - We are located in Oscoda County within the Huron National Forest and the Ausable River Valley.

    -We are currently the 6th least populated county in the state, this includes the U.P. Counties.


    There are several points of interest in the area.....

    - A large Amish Community in the Mio area with many tidy farms and interesting retail stores.

    - There is a very large network of ATV and Snowmobile Trails.

    - Horse Back Riding
    * our area is part of the "Michigan Shore to Shore Trail"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were wonderful. The cabin was very clean, and well put together, and I am very picky about the cleanliness. We love the surrounding area, as we travel there frequently. We will definitely be returning to the area, and to this cabin.

This was a quiet and serene place. The view, the wildlife, it was a pleasure to sit and eat with such a glorious view! So cozy, clean and convenient. There’s a store less than 5 minutes away, you can throw your trash out for 2, there’s a pretty good grocery store. If you go in the early summer season like June, it’s tick season! So be prepared and aware! The host is awesome! He gives you the history of the cabin, the map, so you can have a great experience walking the trails. He made it so easy to get checked in and responded rapidly.

Went up to see a meteor shower in the dead of winter and this place was so charming. The wood-burning stove was fantastic (but if you use a lot of firewood the host asks you to chip in a little cash).

We had a great time in this beautiful cabin. It had everything we needed to relax for our long weekend. We loved the two porches and spent most of our time outside. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway.
