Only 15 minutes from the city of Lucca.
The sea, with sandy beach, is distant only 30 minutes from the house. (Lido di Camaiore -Viareggio- Forte dei Marmi).
This charming farmhouse restored in 2012, was formerly a small cloister dating back to 1700. It is located in the middle of an olive tree grove dominating the valley and the city of Lucca, which lies only 11 km from here. The owner is an interior designer, this is why interiors are refurbished with care and attention to details, using original Tuscan furniture and aiming at the perfect ease of the guests. The days in Lucca will be particularly agreeable thanks to its many attractions and points of interest: the sightseeing of the town, its unique city walls, churches, squares, museums etc. For those who love the sea, in 30 minutes you can reach the sea-side resorts of Versilia, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi - all renowned for their huge golden shores. For mountain lovers, in only 30 minutes you can be in the Garfagnana area and walk through its ancient villages. Take a chance to visit the cities of art and the most characteristic places of Tuscany (Pisa, Firenze, Siena, Cinque Terre) that are near to Lucca and easy to reach. In case some day you do not want to go anywhere, you can enjoy the impressive terrace, which is definitely the peculiarity of this house, offering the possibility to stay outside in complete relax. A magical place surrounded by nature where everything is like it used to be – only a few ancient houses deep in the stillness of the hills and an enchanting atmosphere due to the magnificent view, outstanding during the day and lovely by night.

Massimo’s villa was absolutely lovely! The views from the property were spectacular. The home is well equipped for all your needs during your stay. Massimo was a fantastic host. He was very responsive and had plenty of suggestions on getting around and where to eat. If you need anything, he will take care of it for you.We had a great time while staying at his property!Lucca is such a cool city. It has all of the charm that you expect in Italy without the big crowds.

We had a wonderful 4 week stay at this Tuscan house. The host, Massimo, was wonderful! He checked in with us frequently to be sure we were doing fine and had everything we needed. The house was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking our meals. The views of Lucca from the yard were beautiful! Thank you Massimo for a wonderful vacation!

Das Ferienhaus liegt ca. 20 Fahrminuten nordöstlich von Lucca in sanften Hügeln.Ein Auto ist notwendig. Die Straßen sind ein wenig abenteuerlich.Dominant am Haus ist die wunderschöne Veranda mit Blick traumhaften Blick auf Lucca. Nachbarn sind praktisch nicht spürbar. Alles notwendige ist vorhanden, die 3 Doppelbetten haben unterschiedliche Härte, da ist für jeden was dabei.Massimo als Gastgeber führt charmant in die Umgebung ein. Bei Problemen (bei uns:Unwetter) hilft er unmittelbar. Leichte Beeinträchtigung war sporadisch auftretende Geruchsbelästigung durch eine nahe Sickergrube, wie ich vermute. Ferner ist guter Mückenschtz notwendig.

Wunderbares Haus, toller Gastgeber, mega Aussicht

Wir waren 2 Wochen im Juli 2025 in Massimos Haus. Das Haus ist wunderbar und Massimo ist ein super toller Gastgeber, der jederzeit mit tollen und praktischen Tips zur Stelle war. Die Anfahrt zum Haus war bei der 1. Fahrt (Massimo hat uns "unten" an der Strasse eingesammelt, dann ging es zusammen den Berg hoch) tatsächlich abenteuerlich und damit auch stressig, aber ab der 2. Fahrt gewöhnt man sich dran und wir wurden immer sicherer mit unserem VW Bulli. Also, die Anfahrt sollte einen nicht abschrecken!Die Lage auf einem Olivenhain war wunderschön, aber doch etwas abseits, das muss man wissen. Man braucht für alles das Auto und mal eben zum Bäcker fahren ist damit keine Option. Auch bis nach Lucca braucht man ca. 20min, bis zum Meer braucht man 45-60min (je nachdem, wo man hin fährt), also alles etwas weiter weg. Wir wsren mit Hund dort, ich hatte gehofft, dort am Berg ein bisschen auch spazieren gehen zu können, das ging aber leider nicht, man kann nur den Wegen / Strassen folgen. Das war für unseren Hund etwas unpraktisch. Insgesamt kann man das Haus von Massimo absolut empfehlen, man muss sich nur ob der Lage und damit verbundenenEntfernungen bewusst sein! Ein ganz besonderes Lob an Massimo!

Wir haben 2 Wochen im Juni in Massimos Haus gewohnt. Das Haus ist wunderschön eingericht und auf einem Hügel etwa 8 Km von Lucca entfernt gelegen. Man schaut von der Terasse in die Ebene und auf Lucca. Wenn man Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist man hier genau richtig. Massimo ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber, der sich sehr freundlich und zurückhaltend gekümmert hat. Vielen Dank dafür. Wir werden sicherlich noch einmal hierhin zurück kehren.

Great time in Lucca

Our stay in Lucca was wonderfully relaxing. Massimo was a great host. He stopped in several times in the two weeks that we were there. His travel tips and suggestions made our trip the most enjoyable we’ve had. The house was nicely furnished but kept a farmhouse charm. The view from the patio never failed to relax us. Very peaceful. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Traumhaftes Haus in toller Lage nahe Lucca

Das Haus war super schön – sehr gepflegt, stilvoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Lage ist ruhig und idyllisch, gleichzeitig ist man in wenigen Minuten in Lucca. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Nähe zur Natur und die entspannte Atmosphäre. Massimo war ein großartiger Gastgeber: herzlich, hilfsbereit und stets erreichbar. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Haus absolut weiterempfehlen!

A piece of Tuscan heaven...

For two weeks we enjoyed a little piece of Tuscan heaven amongst the peaceful olive groves in the hills outside of Lucca, while discovering the history (and restaurants!) of the city of Lucca itself, along with day trips around the area including Lido di Camaiore along the coast, Pisa, and Firenze, historic villas and local wineries. The home itself is beautifully restored and authentically appointed, and we ended each day with wine on the covered terrace overlooking an amazing vista. Our host Massimo was most kind, gracious, and helpful and we very much enjoyed getting to know him. As other reviewers have noted, the approach to the home up and down the winding hills (and up and down the terraced steps between the house and parking) are not without their challenges, but it became easier each day.

Frühling im Olivenhain über Lucca

Wir haben eine traumhafte 1. April Woche in Massimos Haus verbracht und fanden es noch schöner als auf den Fotos. So eine Aussicht kann man eben nur schwer auf Bildern festhalten. Die Lage ist fantastisch und Sonne kommt früh am Morgen hinter dem Berg hervor und scheint den ganzen Tag auf das Haus und die Terrasse.Und zu so einer Aussicht und Abgeschiedenheit kommt man eben auch nicht auf einer breit ausgebauten Strasse. Wir waren mit 2 mittel großen Autos unterwegs und die Straße war völlig in Ordnung für uns. Einfach langsam fahren und ab und an vor den Kurven hupen. Wenn einem jemand entgegen kommt, dann sind es Einheimische, die wissen was zu tun ist.Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet, die Matratzen sehr bequem, gute Bettwäsche und hochwertige Handtücher. In der Küche hatte es alles was wir gebraucht haben und wir haben sehr viel gekocht. An den Abenden war es noch kühl und da wir darauf verzichtet haben zu heizen, haben wir abends ein Feuer im Kamin in der Küche gemacht, Feuerholz ist vorhanden und günstig. Uns hat es für eine Woche gereicht aber auch für Nachschub wird gesorgt wenn man ihn braucht.Massimo stand uns immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite und selbst als wir uns an unserem letzten Tag einen platten Reifen geholt haben wusste er wer uns schnell und professionell helfen kann. Ein Urlaub an den wir noch lange zurück denken werden und hoffentlich wieder kommen.

Casa molto bella,dal terrazzo si vede tutta lucca. La strada per raggiungere la casa è un po scomoda molto stretta ma comunque ne vale la pena. Non è specificato che la camera al piano terra non è presente il bagno come descritto nell'annuncio ma è in cucina con un disimpegno prima.

Stunning view and

A beautiful house in the mountains. The view is so stunning that no picture can do justice to it. It’s in the mountains, quiet, authentic and peaceful, yet close to Lucca, 10 minutes to the closest supermarket. Great gardens around the house, which are very well maintained. We were extremely well taken cared of By the owner Massimo. He was very kind and attentive. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We hade more than everything we needed. I’d love to go back to the house again! Thank you Massimo!

This is a truly beautiful house with long views down to Lucca and olive groves all around. It is well-furnished and we slept really soundly. Massimo, the host, is extremely gracious and offers many great ideas for local activities and day trips, and once you find it the local supermarket is very well stocked. Having said all that, there are two "buts" to determine if this is the right fit for you. The key one is that "steep, winding, and narrow road" indicated in some comments is an understatement of the case. If you are not an experienced and confident driver with a relatively small car, you're going to have a challenge. The road goes from one lane to less than one car width, there are no shoulders, and the dropoffs are steep. It is very unlikely that a car service would agree to come pick you up. Issue #2, which is related to that, is that either you cook quite a bit in the well-appointed kitchen or you stay out for lunch and dinner (meaning drive up the hill in the dark). It is a good 20-25 minutes to anywhere and you get to navigate the hill both ways. We would go out for the day, enjoy an Italian lunch, pick up supplies for dinner, and head home to cook and enjoy that. (Issue #3: if you are a crazy cat person, use your common sense and do not feed the feral cats that roam the mountain as the people before us did.) Again, we very much enjoyed our stay once we figured it all out but you need a small car and you better be a good driver.

Great Stay in a Typical Tuscan Villa

We had an amazing stay at Massimo's Tuscan Villa. We were close to the walled city of Luca, and it was a great place to stage your Tuscan vacation. The villa itself was well appointed and everything was high quality. The amazing views, and the Tuscan hillside made each morning very special. Massimo is a great host. He ensured that we had everything we needed and he knew it was our anniversary and left us a little gift for when we checked in. If you're looking for a typical Tuscan villa on the Tuscan Hill side surrounded by olive trees on a working olive tree farm, stay with Massimo. One of the best VRBO hosts I've ever had.

Beautiful mountain view

Spent 9 wonderful days exploring Tuscany from this house as our base. Massimo was an extraordinary host! We hope to return again one day.
