Durante más de 70 años, nuestra familia ha sido dueña de la cabaña de mamá y papá. Reputado de ser el primer hogar en Honest Point. La cabaña es el epítome de la vida relajada y sin complicaciones. La casa fue renovada y mejorada para los huéspedes hace aproximadamente 8 años y seguimos agregando mejoras a medida que surgen las necesidades.

La cabaña de mamá y papá está situada en aguas profundas y tiene una pequeña playa. La orilla desciende lentamente proporcionando a los niños pequeños lugares seguros para jugar en el agua. Los 25 acres circundantes brindan amplias oportunidades para que los niños y las mascotas deambulen

El interior incluye una cocina equipada, dos dormitorios, (una cama queen en uno, 2 dobles en el otro), un baño con ducha, sala de estar, oficina y dos porches con mosquitero.

La casa está ubicada en la histórica región de Northern Neck de Virginia. Disfrute de la pesca de cangrejos, pesca, paseos en bote, kayak, visitas a bodegas y las casas históricas de George Washington, Robert E Lee y James Monroe.

Si prefiere la vida silvestre en lugar de la vida nocturna, este es el lugar para usted. Despierta cada mañana con águilas, gansos, garzas y cangrejos locales que pescan sus macetas. Este es un lugar rural tranquilo con mucha superficie que le dará la oportunidad de escapar del bullicio y el estrés de la ciudad. Se puede llegar a la mayoría de los servicios en 30 minutos.

Una nota para aquellos de la ciudad: vivimos en un área donde los "bichos" son una realidad. Algunos de ellos son un placer de ver y otros son una molestia. Hacemos todo lo posible para acentuar lo positivo y eliminar las criaturas negativas que pueda encontrar.

Simply put this is just a lovely place. Sitting on the screened in porch, watching birds and including eagles, fly over the water was simply stunning. It was very quiet. Ended up beaching my boat at the small beach. my wife was kind of recovering from some medical issues, and she slept spectacularly given the quietness of the area. The house is quaint and charming. I cannot say enough about this place.

We loved our stay at mom and Pops so much that we hope to come back next year! The view was incredible and the small Sandy beach is just the right size for what we needed. I am not on the river, we spent most of our time in the screened in porch, looking at the spectacular views. Can’t wait to come back!

Relaxing property & comfy house

This is the perfect place for families and pets to relax and explore--by the water, taking walks on the country road, or hanging out on the screened porches! Nancy and her family are kind and helpful, and the house is very tidy and clean with lots of thoughtful details that make for a comfortable stay. We had a great time and plan to return!

Pleasant Cottage by the river

This cottage was clean with many amenities provided. Quiet location right by the river, with views of wonderful sunrises and sunsets. There are several nice state parks close by to enjoy. There were family games available as well as kayaks at the property. Nancy was always very responsive.

2 Week Stay 9/14 - 9/28/2024

We loved the house and the location being fairly remote yet amenities nearby to fill our needs. We are very familiar with the area but were new to this particular house. The 2 dogs loved the beach area and the big yard to run around. Kitchen was well equipped, and I even made grape jelly during our stay. We loved the two screened in porches as they were lovely when the weather was rainy. We will likely rent again in the future.

Wonderful Cottage on the Water

Wonderful pet friendly cottage on the water. Very relaxing location and the screened in porches were a great plus to help stimulate our dogs during the heat of the day. The cottage was stocked with almost anything you could think of including common condiments. Nancy also accommodated a change of dates for us as well without an issue.

Very good experience, my son enjoyed the beach to the fullest, my wife and I enjoyed the panoramic view, the crabs, the blue crab and the fishing. A very good experience with tranquility and peace. If I could own a river house, I would want it to be just like this one, beautiful and peaceful views, quaint and charming inside, a two great screened in porches, where we spent most of our time. Absolutely wonderful cottage

I don't think I could encompass what a wonderful stay we had in one short review. The description and overview of the property is straight forward and provides great detail, including the uniqueness of this rental. The cottage itself is nestled under towering, giant, pines, and dense green foliage. Creating a level of privacy and comfort, even though there is another house nearby, you still feel like you're in an enchanted little forest. The interior of the cottage is well maintained with attention paid to the lovely historic aspects of what I can only imagine is an original Northern Neck river front home. From the built-in to the vintage sconces, original flooring and pine cabinets. The cottage is also immaculate. We travel with our dogs A LOT, and we have never stayed at a pet friendly rental that was so clean and well maintained! You can tell immediately that this property is close to the heart of the owners as you're greeted by a photo of Mom and Pop, next to binder full of valuable information for your stay. The owners are very responsive and kind. The private beach is it's own little oasis and the water is shallow and perfect for kids or dogs. The views from the screened in porch are breathtaking. We will be back!!

The cottage is charming, clean and well stocked. There is a small sandy beach, which is nice. Great area for boating. The host was easy to work with and responsive. And the views are stunning. Had a great trip.

Nice House

We loved the house. I was a bit mislead about 20 acres to walk around when there was a family living next door. Each day someone showed up to go into the garage. The gentleman from next door came with his small children and his two dogs on two occasions. I had my older dog with us and she wasn’t crazy about the younger energetic dogs who roamed the property. It would have been good to have known about the neighborly pups before we were surprized by then standing at the porch door barking at my dog

Perfect 3-week stay -- great for kids!

We stayed at Mom and Pop’s cottage for 3 weeks this past August and it was wonderful! Our hosts were very hospitable and we had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The house and surrounding area is great for kids (our 3 year old LOVED the private beach). We highly recommend choosing the cottage if you’re looking for a remote escape with a beautiful view - and you must try the crabs!

Nice little cottage

This property is a nice little no frills cottage. Owners were very quick to respond. For us, with kids that love to swim, we were most disappointed by the jellyfish. Both my kiddos were stung in the first few minutes in the water and therefore were scared to swim the remainder of the trip. We realize this is not the owners fault, but we wish we would have known before booking. Otherwise, cute small cottage with great screened in porches and a great view of the water.

Wonderful view and dog-friendly yard

Secluded location in a serene setting with a great river view. Our dog loved the yard and making friends with Dougie. Dated kitchen, only one bath with cramped shower but sufficiently accommodating. Mattresses on double beds too soft for our comfort. Found "hard zones" for individual sleeping our second night.

Quiet and relaxing

There were three of us, two adults and a four year old. The four year old thoroughly enjoyed the sandy beach area. The water was warm and very shallow even with the tide in. We spent most of our time playing in the water We enjoyed our meals sitting in the screened in porch looking out towards the water. Bring bug spray. We are sensitive to bugs bites. We applied spray each evening, even when on the screened in porch. We did a nice kayak outing using the rental place in Kinsale. There is a second property but it felt far enough away that there was privacy. Owners were very responsive to our questions.

Waterfront home

What a wonderful secluded home! If you are looking for a quiet property that is waterfront (bonus) this is for you! Lovely 2 screened in porches - and pretty spacious bedrooms. We loved this property and hopefully we will be able to visit again soon, and they allow dogs (another bonus)! Owner was very helpful, house was clean, well stocked kitchen.

Great quiet getaway

Loveliness in Lottsburg, VA

Our family of 5 very much enjoyed the property and accommodations in the Lottsburg Country Cottage. It offered an opportunity to relax and enjoy the river, although weather was not suitable for water related activities. We will certainly be back to enjoy all this property has to offer.

Cozy river front house

When I read the last review of this house I wondered if I should rent Nancy's house. As I read all of the other reviews, I decided that it sounded like the place for me. Nancy was a great hostess and very responsive to my e-mail questions about her house. When I arrived she provided a bottle of wine and flowers. The cottage is spacious and immaculately clean. The kitchen is well-equipped which was important as I enjoy cooking. From the screened-in porch you can watch waterfowl and boats on the river. As it was winter, I did not go in the water but enjoyed walking by the river. There are a number of antique stores in the area if you enjoy browsing. I highly recommend this cottage and look forward to visiting again.

Mouse House

Property looks tired. Stains on ceiling, a lot of chipped paint, pine needles in gutters, trash around shed, etc. Then there was the very much alive mouse I saw. Property owners were aware the house had mice. Property manager came and put a glue trap amid the pots and pans. So I can not recommend this property unless you enjoy sharing space with rodents and washing everything in the kitchen before you use it. I don't, so I left.
