A modern rustic retreat

Modern and DWELL type house up on a hill with great views of Santa Monica mountains. Great place to entertain, both inside and out. Feels like you are on a secluded retreat.
One acre lot, pet friendly, Dwell modern style, family friendly, large enclosed yard. BBQ with beautiful front deck all set up for alfresco dining.
4 bedrooms (one of the bedrooms is the Art Studio that has a sleeper sofa, 2 bath house in a quiet residential area. Master bathroom features a two person jacuzzi tub next to a spa like shower. Outdoor shower with total privacy. Set back off of a cul de sac. 25 minutes to the Malibu beach, 45 minutes to LAX. An hour and a half from Disneyland, 45 minutes from Santa Barbara. 20 minutes to Camarillo Outlet Mall. Horse ranch with horses to rent 5 minutes from the house, beautiful state park hiking and biking trails five minutes from the horse.Trail head at corner of property that opens up to hiking.
Note: There is an additional fee for over 4 adults - $50 per person, per night.

We loved this house! The setting is so special with a beautiful view of the mountains and a nice sitting area outside with fire pit. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

The house and property offered an excellent experience. The interior was exactly as shown in the pictures—spacious, comfortable, and perfect for family gatherings. Each room was tastefully decorated, and the restrooms were spotless and well maintained.The play area was an ideal spot to relax and unwind while taking in the beautiful outdoor views. The outdoor space itself was expansive, inviting guests to explore and enjoy the natural surroundings. A few tall pine trees and thoughtfully placed chairs create the perfect setting to soak in the serene and scenic landscape.As the seasons shift toward fall and winter, this home remains a wonderful retreat—where you can enjoy both the cozy indoors and the mild Southern California winter weather outdoors. The drive from Los Angeles is well worth it for anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the city and a refreshing connection with nature.

I was in need of a rental home for 3 weeks. I could not have found a better home and host than right here. The communication was stellar throughout. The house has an incredible sense of remote rustic feel while being very close to Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, etc. I loved the ease of commute to LA where I was needed on business a few times. The back patio in mornings and evenings, the open air vibe with the sliding doors open in the cool CA air - all create an amazing atmosphere. I love to cook - the kitchen is fantastic, as is the grill out back. I highly recommend this home and would return and rent it again.

This is the 2nd year we’ve stayed here and we loved it every bit as we did last year! It has everything you would ever need and great for young kids. My 3 year old grandson spent many hours playing in the back area which had a sandy area to play with the toys that are there for them! The back patio is an oasis of foliage and flowers and a magnificent view. Looking forward to coming again next year!!

Fire Pit with Terrific View

The living spaces were much larger than I expected. The best part was the adorable little patio with a big fire pit and a fabulous view. And it was so peaceful!! Would have been nice to have some sort of closet or at least a hanger in one of the small bedrooms. Terrific kitchen with everything we could ever want. We had guests over and had no problem with fitting 18.

Great get away! Very quiet and peaceful. Everything we needed, from kitchenware to towels and linens, felt like a home away from home. Enjoyed cooking and bbqing for the family, and loved the option of outdoor or indoor seating for all 7 of us! The property was perfect with lots of different outdoor spaces to enjoy. Truly a retreat!

Came to Cali from Michigan for our 1st borns wedding. We have a family of 6 and the space was ideal. Location to venue was perfect. Loved the layout of the home. We actually had the rehearsal dinner catered in at the house due to the layout and outdoor areas.

Absolutely Awesome!

We’ve booked many rental homes with our family and Modern Rustic Retreat was one of the very best we’ve experienced. The home had stunning vistas and multiple conversation areas. It had a well-appointed kitchen. We enjoyed the neighborhood, the nice neighbors, and lots of hiking trails in walking distance. We would highly recommend it.
