RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #255 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

I was not happy overall with my stay at ALL. The pool was closed for 4 days of our trip. On the last night we stayed we came across cockroaches in our room and I had called the manger and he was not helpful at all. I do not want to stay at a place that advertised a pool when it wasn’t open our whole stay. I do not appreciate nothing being done about having cockroaches in our room very gross.

good spot for easy beach access

It had most everything we needed, maybe could use a few more kitchen items, but we got by. The living room needs a better reading lamp, but the furniture was comfortable, and the TV setup was nice. The beach access is the best thing about this resort. The complex was pretty quiet, and the pool was never very busy.

Ok so I had a family emergency the day I had to check in...I cannot say or share my experience...I never checked in or stayed...I asked for credit or a refund but got denied...its not the hotel's fault, they have rules they go by...I payed top dollar for a room the that I never stayed in, money lost on my behalf...Oh well...the front desk lady over the phone was very nice...I can't say anything else since I did not have experience with the property, hotel or room.

Location - Location - Location !!

This was my second visit to Silver Sands, and anxious to return again. Staff was courteous and helpful, Beach was beautiful, and just out your door. Close proximity to Sarasota and St. Armands. Numerous fine restaurants within short distance. A bit dated, but enjoyed the quiet family atmosphere, and met many nice people at poolside.

Disappointing

I spent the weekend in this property along with my 15-yr old daughters and a niece. The biggest issues I had were inaccurate description of the property, lack of parking spots and very loud guests. The location is definitely the main plus but that was about it. The property is in urgent need of a deep clean/upgrade. The door separating the units was really bad because we could hear everything the next door neighbor was doing including a meltdown at 2:30 am. Guests were extremely loud and disrespectful, partying until 2 am. A large group was playing loud music on the beach and then they moved to the pool at night. They left lots of trash on the beach and even the locals were taking pictures in the morning. I was hoping a quiet weekend getaway but unfortunately it didn’t happen. The description says that chairs and umbrellas were provided but there were none. Why indicate something that you know it is not available. Parking was also a nightmare. After waiting 40 min for someone to move their vehicle so I could park I was afraid to leave the property and run into the same issue again. I reported the parking issue with the property manager and although they responded, the problem persisted. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and dirty. We were given only 1 beach towel per person for the entire weekend. Blind didn’t fully closed, tv remote had no batteries. Quite honestly this was my worst experience with vrbo.

Great location

We had a nice spur of the moment stay at Silver Sands #255. Although the furnishings were a bit dated and worn, the unit was Clean and comfortable. We did have a few issues with AC and fridge, but the management was very helpful and immediately had someone up there to check it out. We loved the beach front convenience, heated pool, screened balcony and complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. Kitchen was nicely stocked for cooking. We loved the smallness of the place— lots of privacy and super quiet!

Very Pleased overall with this property. Check In was easy and staff was very polite and helpful. The grounds were well kept and the pool was clean with great seating. The room was clean and was perfect for the 2 of us. Comfortable bed and nice seating area and could see the ocean and pool from the Lanai. The parking can be tight if there are several vehicles in the lot. The washer and dryer for the complex is outside but under roof.

It was fine; I’m just a bit spoiled. An older property but well maintained. Bed was comfortable. LR TV very small. Unusable closet stuffed with bulk. Tiny bathroom, light bulb missing, no batteries in remote, plastic upright chairs for lanai. But great location on the island. Good front desk customer service.

Working from “home”

Working from home… Remotely. This place was perfect the Wi-Fi was strong, and in between meetings I dunked in the ocean. The staff was super nice when I checked in and the cleaning help is very nice when I left

Great location on the beach

It's a great condo location on the beach. There's enough cooking equipment plus outdoor gas grills to prepare fresh fish dinner bought straight off the boat about 15 minutes away. Watching the sunset from the beach right outside was wonderful. This unit could use a deep clean, but otherwise A+.

Perfect location for us

We were looking for a nice beach getaway and this one didn’t disappoint. Super clean. Loved that beach chairs were provided and the beach wasn’t crowded at all. Also enjoyed the heated pool. We will be back. Only down side is the bed was extra firm. We will bring a mattress topper next time.

Perfect Family Getaway

Great property and location. We loved the pool and easy beach access. It was great to have beach umbrellas available in addition to the chairs. My kids loved the putt putt course and shuffle board on-site. Property staff was super helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend.

We really liked this place. The umbrellas and loungers were a plus. Great location with tons of good places to eat nearby. Unit was up to date and well equipped. We’re already talking about bringing our granddaughter.
