Welcome to the newest Double Rainbow International property, Suncoast Shangrila!

Suncoast Shangrila offers a private, luxurious retreat on Anna Maria Island Inlet, Longboat Key. This quaint one bedroom / one bath unit is located on the ground floor a 5-minute walk from a quiet public beach access, with a dock and private lagoon just out the back door: perfect for fishing, paddleboarding and kayaking. Recently remodeled, Suncoast Shangrila is appointed in luxury, offering spectacular 150+/- degree views, an open great room and kitchen, upgraded appliances and hardware, and everything you need to dine in. The property offers a stackable full sized washer and dryer, and our exterior closet and common areas offer umbrellas, beach chairs, and a tandem kayak. Located at the north end of Longboat Key, Anna Maria Island beaches (and others) are a short distance away. Walk to at least five delicious restaurants a mile from the front door, or frequent a 24-hr fitness gym, liquor store, hair salon & other shops across the street. Downtown Sarasota and St. Armand's Circle are easily drivable. Enjoy Suncoast Shangrila as a private retreat or home base to explore the surrounding beauty of Sarasota and the Florida suncoast!

Just Right

We chose this cute bungalow for its location on a quiet street with a very short walk to our favorite beach growing up. The cove view and having coffee on the quiet dock each morning with all the shorebirds and fish jumping was magical. The condo itself was perfectly stocked with everything we needed yet it wasn't cluttered up with things we didn't need. Everything was clean and very comfortable, and very thoughtfully put together. We took the kayak out, as well as the paddle board, and we saw manatees every day (look over by the bridge). Quiet, and magical - it bears repeating!

Great location!

We absolutely loved this stay. It’s the perfect location on Longboat Key. The beach is minutes away and there is limited public parking so the beach was hardly occupied. The dock on the lagoon is perfect for morning coffee and they have everything you needed for the beach. We will definitely stay here again.

Love This Place!

We visit Longboat Key almost every year for our anniversary and this was one of our favorites places to stay. I must say I got use to our “backyard” view of the water very quickly and you get the best of both worlds with access to both the bay and the beach. The unit is very clean, coastal boho decor, good use of storage space, and fully equipped. There aren’t many units in the complex so it was very quaint and quiet. There is really no need to pack a lot of beach supplies because the storage closet had pretty much everything….umbrella, chairs, beach cart, and plenty of beach towels. They even had a 2 person kayak. We went kayaking every morning and had an unexpected surprise….3 manatees came right up to us and later we had a front row view of a mama dolphin and her baby. The beach was a very short walk; however we also loaded our cooler on the kayak and just paddled across to the beach access directly across the lagoon. If you like to fish, then you can walk right out the door and drop a line. We would highly recommend staying here for a nice couples get away and we will definitely be back.

Cozy Condo

Exactly what you need if you are looking to get away from it all. A cocoon of comfort and quiet. Beautiful and cozy furnishings make the most of the space. Loved being on the lagoon for sunset. A block to the beach. The host is so responsive and friendly. Just perfect.

best of the beach and bay

nice old condo on the outside. Looks like a strip shopping center with 10 stores. The inside appears to be about 600-700 square feet. All modern, nothing old. The first room is the bedroom which is nice. My partner complained wasn't dark enough to sleep. The wicker end table bed drawer pulls fell off. An easy fix. The bathroom had a nice shower. Water pressure in the unit is low. Counter and sink were modern. Towels of good quality. The kitchen was quite nice with a large quartz counter with 2 bar stools. If eating larger than 2 people you need to go to the porch which has a round table with 4 chairs, two that swivel. The refrig is a slim line as is the dishwasher. More than adequate. All appears near new. We couldn't find electrical outlets on the kitchen counter. How were we to know it was a popup tower? Great idea. The coffee maker was inadequate. Was a clumsy 4 ? cupper. Coffee goes everywhere. Didn't use the Keurig. The sofa in the unit is low and uncomfortable. Never used it. The TV has no easy usable channels. The porch glass door weighed a ton as probably hurricane proof. Lift weights for a month before comin! The back outdoor view was worth the stay. Jumping fish everywhere. The beach is a short 5 minute walk. We used our own chairs and umbrella, in a small storage area next door is a beach wagon which we used. Just be careful when opening the door as the area is jam packed. The beach was easy to get to and had few beachers. The water was warm and clean .

Wonderful place to relax

The condo is very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the small lagoon behind it. There’s so much wildlife to be seen. Beautiful beaches! We enjoyed the kayaks as well. We were very pleased with our experience and had a great vacation. The hosts were extremely accommodating and responsive to our request.

An excellent property in a splendid location. The property is really well presented and located in an idyllic location on a beautiful lagoon with beach access only a few 100 yards away. The use of a kayak and paddle board are real pluses when there is so much to discover in the lagoon and bay area. We can thoroughly recommend this property.

Just Perfect!

First, the new owners are absolutely FANTASTIC! We had booked our trip in April and this unit sold to the current owners two weeks before our trip. They went above and beyond to ensure that the transition was seamless. Second, the unit is spotless. Everything you need for your stay, including a beach cart, chairs, and umbrellas for the beach in the storage unit. The beach is maybe a five minute walk, and there was never a crowd. We hesitate to recommend this place and the owners so highly, because we are afraid it won't be available when we want to return! LOL Thank you to the Double Rainbow Team, and we will definitely be back! Michael & Wanda
