Chapter South Bank

This is student hostel, not a hotel, I realized it before book. Room is good with sufficient space. Cleanliness is acceptable. However, they only provide a pack of amenity set and 1 tissue roll for 5 nights stay is absolutely not enough. I went down to office request for the additional shower gel and tissue roll, they promise to provide addtinal to room but it never happened. Also, no air-conditioning, so don't know what is the feeling when stay during summer time.

Nice & comfortable studio

I had the superior studio on the 6th floor, which was well equipped with kitchenette and a small bathroom. It is in a great location, it is quiet (except when the tiny window is opened, there is some train noise), comfortable and clean. I would come again.

Unless you're looking for very low end student digs where you will not get any sleep, do not stay here! This is listed as being 'luxury' and we had booked a 'deluxe apartment'; there is nothing luxury or deluxe about this facility at all. We were able to leave our luggage until it was time to check in, but when we returned after check in time, the keys we were given would not open the door to our apartment. We had planned on freshening up and going out for the evening, but had to wait over an hour for a working key. The whole block and our apartment were uncomfortably hot, even after leaving the window open all night - we then had to shut it at about 5am as it sounded like a party was happening outside. Very worn and thin uncomfortable matress with two thin pillows and one very small thin duvet between the 2 of us. We asked for an iron in the morning to be told they didn't know if they had one - we got one eventually but had to wait. We could hear every little noise from the rest of the corridor - sounded like someone was in and out of the room next door every 20 minutes going back and forth, and any time someone ran a tap or flushed the toilet, we could hear it in our room. Didn't sleep a wink and decided to book somewhere else for the rest of our stay. When we told the receptionist we were leaving he did not seem surprised, in fact he said it was understandable and advised us to contaxt Expedia for a refund. Please take heed and do NOT stay here!

The room do not look like they are presented in the pictures. The bathroom is small and uncomfortable. The window is way to small but when you open the window it’s way to loud. You can hear all the other rooms. The tv remote didn’t work. She had to change the room because the door lock wouldn’t work. The reception is not even a reception just three tables in a room. Wouldn’t recommend it and I will never go back there. The bed was hard and gave you back pain. The fridge handle was broken. There was a cigarette burn on the floor. The hotel refers to themselves as luxury student accommodation but the luxury is not given. Do not book it or you will be disappointed.

Sorry to say, avoid

I have never written a review before, but this is not at all what I expected (I stay in hotels in London weekly). This is student accomodation. Amongst other things, the last bit of patience I had was gone when I was shown into my room and it had an unmade, slept in bed, it smelt, and the first solution offered by the host was to change the bedsheets. Clearly, the whole apartment needed to be cleaned and was not suitable for a customer paying for a week long stay and with work to do.

There is construction near the facility and every morning I was woken up by the noise. The heat inside the dorm was super hot and I don’t know how to lower the heat. One good thing was that I was able to check in earlier than the regular time because the room was ready, however, it doesn’t seem like the staffs know that the website offered to drop off luggage at the place before check in hours. I was there 5 hrs early but didn’t know where to leave my luggage and it was raining at that time.

Construction work made it for a loud morning. Sinks were constantly blocked because drainage was slow. Floors were filthy and we do not wear shoes indoors. Hallways are very very warm but that's fine. Rooftop is pretty. Room is good in general.
