"I stayed in Nauvoo for 5 nights. Two nights at the Hobbit house and three nights at another place. We only stayed two nights at the Hobbit house because it was so much more expensive. If I had to plan again I would spend the extra and stayed all week. It was all on one level, way cleaner, and had a huge comfortable tub. The charm of the place was sensational. "I read the reviews of others and here's my experience. I did not have any bad smells and my son (who is allergic to cats) did not have any allergy issues. It is obviously an older property, so it's not a modern, freshly painted environment. Things are obviously used, but the renters have done a good job making the space usable and feel "homey". "This is a beautiful little cabin, right on the river with a nice little beach. The views were wonderful. Don't let the two bad reviews scare you off, I found it to be very clean inside and the deck was nice. Would be great for a family to stay for a few days. I enjoyed having a bonfire by the river and looking at the stars. "It is an older home as indicated in the listing, but it was very clean and well maintained. The host did great communicating and helped with our unique accommodations. The home is within walking distance to the temple, downtown, and the few restaurants that are in Nauvoo. The home also had a great history and story that was hanging on the wall which really made the stay extra special knowing what role it played in the history of Nauvoo."
