"Great location. House is clean. The finishes and equipment/utensils are all high-end. The property owner is super responsive and accommodating. The long dock off the back of the property is awesome. We saw plenty of fish, crabs, birds, and porpoises during our stay. If you like crabbing and fishing and sipping wine on the water; stay here! "

"Great stay and fantastic views. Felt like we were isolated, yet only 10 minutes from Kilmarnock. Enjoyed the great blue heron, seagulls, nuthatches and humming bird that were around the property. Large rooms and plenty of space to spread out."

"This is a lovely quiet property on the water. It was the best supplied property I’ve ever stayed in with food in the cupboard and fridge and bath room toiletries, even an extra toothbrush. (Good thing because I forgot mine.) There’s plenty of room to spread out and even a pool table. Highly recommended for your next trip to this wonderful little corner of the world. "

"We’ve stayed at the cottage at least 7 times, and without fail, our stay have been wonderful. Our dog loves the private beach and the outdoor shower comes in handy. The cottage offers a beautiful view of the sunset. The restaurants in the area (downtown Mathews) and Hole in the Wall (right on the island) are great and super dog friendly with outdoor seating. "This house has beautiful views and it was only about 45 min to Williamsburg. It is on Hills Bay, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay. The water is very shallow and would be great for younger kids. We brought kayaks and enjoyed our time on the water. It would be fantastic for someone that owns a boat too. "We LOVED our stay and it was so relaxing. We traveled with an infant (5 months) and it went great. The Jacobs were so generous and offered us an early day check-in and late check-out free of charge.
