"Room smelled pungently of mildew. When I told the staff they said they’d have to do a better job of cleaning. We left several days ago and everything in my suitcase, including all my clothes, still have that mildew smell. Quiet setting. Large rooms but had no way to air out except for a tiny window 18x8 that partially opened. Luckily it was cool weather. Pub was cute and food including breakfast was good."

"Great location. Easy access to nearby attractions and transport. Parking was simple and felt safe. Instructions for check-in and stay were clear and easy to follow. Staff were excellent—very friendly, helpful, and responsive. Overall, a smooth and pleasant stay. Would recommend."

"It is unacceptable to state that any swimming poole is available and then have the audacity to charge an additional fee for its use. The mattress was the worst I have slept on for many years."

"The slate is a lovely hotel ,cosy and comfortable .the reception is welcoming and clean and there's a lovely log burner in the bar that gives the plase an atmospheric smell. Evening meal was really good and good value for the home cooked food we enjoyed . Breakfast was really good and just started the day perfectly . We recommend to anyone and we'd definitely stay again when visiting Wales ."

"The hotel is fairly basic, the rooms look a bit dated, there was a crack in my bath surround and some staining on the ceiling, but I believe the rooms are due for refurbishment shortly, so this is likely to improve. The parking is just over the road, and is free for as long as you're staying (you can come and go without registering again apparently). The hotel as a whole was clean and tidy. The food was good but a bit pricey in my opinion, but it is a touristy area, so base your expectations on...

"Lovely stay in Y Capel. Check in really easy and parking onsite was fine. Room was absolutely lovely with a really comfy king bed and great bathroom. Breakfast was in the Erskine Arms and was really tasty. A fair few options on the hot menu and a choice of fruit, yogurts and cereal. We also ate in the pub in the evening and was a really nice meal. One thing to note.... The church next door has a bell that chimes every 15 minutes as well as on the hour, all through the night. Our room...

"What a gem! Cannot fault this b&b at all. We stayed in Room 5. We had such a comfortable stay - one of the best nights sleep in such a comfortable bed and room Great quiet location, handy to have parking too. Check in quick and easy. Great touches like fresh milk being available and pre-choosing options for a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Shower was lovely and powerful. Such a great stay, an example of how b&bs should be. Absolutely would stay again and will recommend."

"The room was clean & we had a nice meal, however we asked for breakfast at 8am due to a ride event we were attending. However, the following day no breakfast was available & the chef was unaware of our request, which was a shame & left with no food. Also, on the Expedia site the room I booked was £52 each, but I was charged £112, & not sure where the fault lies though suspect it is Expedia"

"Gavin and Christopher have put a lot of thought into giving you an enjoyable stay at the Manorhaus Ruthin. The rooms are decorated reflecting welsh designs. The dining room has beautiful sculptures. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious with a lot of choice. The coffee was excellent. Overall we had a great week end stay. The Manorhaus is only minutes walking into the centre where there are several excellent eateries/restaurants"
