"A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. I booked a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the river and the view was wow! On the hottest Bank Holiday for years, I left the French doors...

"It is a comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned feel, but it is a historic building and the staff are cheerful and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the heavy curtains to cut out the sunlight. The stairs to the second floor were a bit tricky for an older guest when carrying luggage, although staff would have helped. I would certainly return."

"Bedroom was very tired looking and needed a good lick of paint and tlc. Furniture needed replacing and also shower and hand basin. Bed was comfy though!"

Room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, I was overlooking the main road but it got really quiet around 11,pm and I slept like a log. Would recommend, good for the price."

"What a fantastic B&B, free parking right behind if you are lucky. The accommodation was lovely, the rooms are brilliant, our room (right at the top) was boutique style with a nice big bath in the room, great views out of the windows. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities in the room and a private toilet. Nice comfortable big bed with a big heavy duvet and plenty of pillows. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. "The receptionist was kind enough to let us park our car while we went up to Sugarloaf early in the morning. All the staff are very friendly. We had our dinner at their restaurant. Fish and chips lovely and cooked breakfast was very nice. Lovely view of the mountain from our bedroom. Room is very spacious,nice and clean. Bathroom is lovely and clean. Looking forward staying here again."

"We had a good stay, wouldn't return. Weekend breakfast timing is 0800-1000 but we were offered 0700-0900 as the only people in the hotel and the owner had other plans. We asked for 0830 and he put 0800. Later we asked for closer to 0900 and we were told that not possible, we saw them drive off after serving breakfast. The room was good, loose floor tiles in bathroom and only one bath mat despite a shower and separate bath. No snacks and poor selection of hot drinks in the room. Hotel is clearly...
