"This is a historical building(heritage house)built in the late 1800. Stairs are steep and hallways very narrow. Has an old house musty odor. The AC in our room was something that sat on the floor with an exhaust tube running out the window. The panel that kept the window open kept falling out so we had to prop it for the AC to work properly. VERY LOUD AC NOISE. It is a virtual check-in. No ice machine. If your looking for history but not needing lots of fluff this could be your place."

"The room was fine, a place to sleep but the carpet felt wet and sticky and there were staples sticking through; also, there was virtually NO water pressure so washing hands and showering was challenging. The Stagg were friendly and there was a wide variety of options served at breakfast."

"I was driving across the country with my partner and our cats when we decided to stop for the night in Iowa City. It seemed like a fun place to spend the evening, with plenty of good dinner options. While I was driving, my partner booked a room at SureStay Plus through Expedia for $172. At that price, we expected a clean, comfortable room for the night. Unfortunately, the room was nowhere near an acceptable standard. As soon as we opened the door, it was obvious that it had not been properly...
