"I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. Cook) and they built the cottage at 1019 S Lake Dr. They worked at the old hotel every summer for decades. My dad also worked there during his teen years and so did I. I loved the view of the park. "Amazing new property that keeps large groups in mind. Beds were plentiful and comfortable. We enjoyed that we could all sit together to eat. We had 16 in our group. We liked the 2 level lighting and the Sonos sound system. We were right on the lake and rented a pontoon that we were able to dock right at the house. There were also kayaks. We are looking to come back next year! Would 100% recommend. "

"It was a very nice place to stay while visiting Chain O Lakes State Park. I stayed here with my father when we weren't hiking. The place is small, but efficient with its use of space. It was very clean, and the checkin/checkout processes were simple and easy.We were able to cook our own breakfast each morning, and relax on the couch and watch TV each evening. "We certainly enjoyed our time relaxing at the cabin by the pines! A private and quaint little cabin that had everything we needed, including the tranquility of being surrounded by nature. From the deck, we got to watch the horses in the pasture in front of us while we watched the sunset. There was even the soothing sounds of a distant train nearby here and there. "The location was great in convenience as well as beautiful surroundings. Really enjoyed the getaway with the family. The host was super friendly and helpful."

"We had a great time….we could not figure the coffee pot out at all so had to use the Kuric, and the tv was hard to figure out…we had a lightbulb burn out and it was replaced right away…we sure enjoyed the back porch and had a fire out there the first night…very nice."

"This was the perfect stay for our family of four (parents and two teens). The kitchen was just the right size for vacation cooking and the grill was nice to use for a couple meals. Beds were comfortable and the deck was the best part. We ate every meal outside, watching the sun change over the water. The kayaks were a huge draw and we used those extensively. The bathroom was spotless and just the right size. Definitely would recommend. "
