"Property is absolutely beautiful. Everything is clean, everything you need is there, so just bring yourselves and your gear. There were even toys and books for the kids, which was a lovely change from the few bits we brought. The fire heats up the whole house nicely and there were extra blankets for the cold nights ( we visited in winter). The view is amazing. Would definitely stay here again"

"We arrived and were personally greeted by Steve. I’ve been too many accommodations in my life and I have never had a host like Steve. He was absolutely superb. We originally planned to stay for two nights and because of the.Bonhomie of the place we stayed a total of six days and five nights. We would have stayed all the way to the end of our trip. This was an unexpected find and you have a really open mind. I highly recommended to book this place. Just remember, it’s not the faint heart. "

"Loved loved loved our stay here with our dog. The property was perfect for us. Warm, comfy, beautiful views over the garden, peaceful. Had everything we needed. So great having the outdoor run for our dog as an option. Location fantastic. Highly recommend."

" The character of the building is interesting, the setting is amazing, great privacy while still being close, access to the beaches is well formed steep track so great if you are able. Access to the house requires use of steps and there are some accessibility challenges. There is everything you could want to enjoy your stay. "

"The place was clean and tidy, well set up for a large group. Sadly my Dad and I arrived late at night so didn’t get to really experience the property much but I could imagine it being a wonderful escape for a big family or group of friends to enjoy. Walking distance to shops, cafes and the local pub/restaurant as well as the Farewell Spit tour company (which is why we were late arriving). "We enjoyed hiking down the trail to Kaiteriteri each day, taking in the gorgeous views and bird calls. If it’s really hot, know that there is not AC and the windows don’t have screens on them to keep bugs out at dusk. At other times of day, we were able to open the windows and let cool air in. We enjoyed the kitchen that enabled us to cook some of our own food."
