Panoramic views surround Ash Creek Hideaway, this perfect escape. Relax in the peaceful Hill Country at our three-bedroom, two-bath home just a couple miles north of Leakey. Enjoy sitting and visiting on the front porch lined in 10 comfortable chairs and rockers, in the back yard watching the wildlife, or after dark star gazing.

Experience country family living on three acres covered with large shade trees that create a pleasant area for outdoor picnics, barbecues, and entertainment. A seasonal creek and springs are inviting to the wildlife. The whitetail deer, and an occasional axis, feed daily. Birds, jack rabbits, and squirrels frequent the feeders and provide hours of enjoyment and relaxation. Seasonal Hummingbirds, Purple Martins, and butterflies passing through can create hours of watching and entertainment. It’s not unusual for the raccoons and armadillos to be seen.

The house has sleeping accommodations for 12 people and linens are provided for the main beds. Enjoy the fresh air blowing through the open windows in the spring or the fireplace on a cool winter night. Central heat and air-conditioning, a fully equipped, newly remodeled kitchen, includes dishes, a dishwasher, and washer and dryer are a few of the amenities. Satellite television on the large Smart TV is included along with internet and a landline telephone.

The large, fenced yard is a nice place for your kids and outdoor pets to enjoy your travels too.

Access to the Frio River is available at river crossings in town, on the Rio Frio Road, Utopia Road, and the road to Vanderpool, several pay locations, and at Garner State Park. Whether a trip to the Frio River, hiking at Lost Maples State Park, a weekend get-away to the country, a week of bird watching, or a quiet romantic time is what you are looking for, we hope you and your family enjoy your stay at Ash Creek Hideaway!

We stayed at Wendy’s cabin with our 8 year old granddaughter and had a great time. We really loved the cabin. The sofas and recliner were very comfortable. Our granddaughter loved the humming birds, there were too many to count. Loved sitting on the front porch drinking coffee on the cool mornings. It was so quiet and peaceful at night. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very dark at night which was perfect for a great night sleep. Wendy is a great host and very responsive to all your texts. She made it a great stay for my wife and I for our 46th anniversary. And of course our granddaughter loved exploring outside, rock hunting and loved being swarmed by the humming birds. Thank you Wendy for sharing your Hideaway with us. Look forward to coming back.

Very clean, lovely yard, and close to Garner State Park. We loved watching the birds and being outside on the porch. My dog was thrilled with the yard and the fence was sturdy enough I didn't worry about him being outside.

We had a wonderful time. The fenced in yard allowed us to let the dogs roam and explore. We enjoyed the fire circle on the cool nights. The proximity to Lost Maples and Garner State Parks was perfect. We took the dogs hiking at both State Parks. A good time was had by all.

This was our second time staying at Ash Creek. Such a beautiful and peaceful getaway from the city. We love the large porch for relaxing and birdwatching. The fully fenced yard is a huge plus for our dog. The house itself is comfortable, clean and well maintained. There are lovely new showers installed since our last visit. Our favorite activity is chilling by the fire with a good book. The host is lovely and makes the entire process easy and welcoming. We definitely recommend Ash Creek and look forward to visiting again!!

This is the second time we've rented this cute 3 bedroom house. That's a wonderful place with great amenities. Lots of parking, washer dryer, fire pit, wildlife, lots of stars... We’re returning guests because we can always trust and rely on the host, who is incredibly kind, generous, warm, and responsive. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed into a space that feels like home.The cabin itself is always in excellent condition, clean, and fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Whether you're cooking with the family, stargazing at night (the stars truly are magical!), or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, this place has it all. It’s spacious enough to comfortably accommodate big family gatherings, making it perfect for group stays.The price is more than fair for the value and experience you get here. We wholeheartedly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable escape to the Hill Country. Can’t wait for our next stay!

We Loved Our Stay

My wife and I (and our two dogs) truly loved our stay here. The house was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. My dogs absolutely loved running around the yard while we sat on the front porch listening to the hummingbirds buzz around. We also both agreed that the pictures don't do the location justice, it is a beautiful property in a beautiful part of Texas. We hope to make it back here again in the future.

Peaceful Hill Country Getaway

My family had a wonderful experience at Ashe Creek Hideaway. The property is beautiful and quiet, great for stargazing at night and bird watching during the day. The cabin itself is very comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked. We enjoyed playing yard games that were on the property and roasting marshmallows over the large outdoor fire pit. Our dog loved running around the fenced in yard and relaxing on the porch. Short drive to Garner State Park for hiking and picnicking. 100% recommend!

Nice hill country stay

This is a nice hill country stay! We enjoyed getting away from the city and being in nature. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, dishes, etc. Wendy was quick to reply to any questions.
