"Nice place for our family to stay "

"A lovely new and clean space. It had all the amenities you would need plus more. Full kitchen with just enough dishes for a small family. There are 6 units connected in an apartment style building so expect some noise from your neighbors, it's not 100% sound proof. Parking is tight, space for 1 medium size vehicle. Leave the truck at home, it will not fit. Overall an excellent stay that is a few short blocks from the sand."

"The description of the La Playa Inn on Expedia was different from the reality. We booked for 4 people. The room was very small. Two beds was tiny. TV was tiny, no balcony. You can not see the ocean from the property. There were many other Places around that looked nicer."

"This place was a great stay. It’s a small hacienda style hotel with a nice inner courtyard. Nothing fancy, but nice. I’d give it a 5 star, but we had a small ant problem(which was promptly fixed). "The Castillo Inn was so lovely and clean. It was easy to park because the lot was right next to the room very comfortable and was just a very short walk to the beach. I had a wonderful time. I plan to return soon."

"The pictures were definitely misleading and shot with a wide angle camera and maybe a bit of touch up. The room was small, dim and definitely did not have the "retro" vibe the pictures are going for. The staff at check-in wasnt rude, but definitely not friendly either. Our biggest issue was with the noise level. None of our neighbors were exessive loud, but the walls and floors were paper thin and we could hear everything, steps, TV and coversations. "Service was excellent. When we arrived, we were greeted and shown around the property, assisted with the luggage and showed us to our room. For breakfast, we arrived a little early, but the waiter and kitchen staff accommodated us as we needed to head up the coast to the Monterey area. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed breakfast outside on the veranda. We would have loved to stay longer, but time did not allow."
