"Room was very nice and spacious, pretty decor and comfortable beds. Two warnings- there is no elevator, and some rooms are on the third floor and the rooms in the front of the building get a lot of street noise (because it’s Reno) and you’re not too far off the street. Overall, though, a great place to stay if you’re looking for non- casino accommodations that are still in the heart of downtown Reno."

"The front desk staff were really friendly from the moment we walked in and always very accommodating throughout our stay. The room was perfect for us and even provided a great view of the fireworks coming from the Silver Legacy on July 4th. It's an older hotel but for the price, it was really good. Pretty close to the Riverwalk as well so the location was convenient. Free parking worked out well too."

"Been staying at the Whitney Peak Hotel for more than twenty years. It has gone downhill recently - probably related to the Hilton purchase. Some of the staff seem to be out-to-lunch. Asked for a restaurant recommendation and was directed to Denny's. Not OK. The Whitney Peak is still the only hotel in Reno I am aware of that does not have a casino and does not allow smoking. Still important to me. Room was clean. Bedframes appear to have been replaced with cheap junk. Headboards too. Very hard to...

"Rooms and the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke though rooms we booked were non-smoking. Both rooms had poor lighting and one room had only one bath towel for 4 guests. We had to go to front desk and ask for 3 more bath towels. We did not feel safe in the hotel as soon as we walked in there is a security guard sitting at the front entrance. The rooms had dirty carpeting and the one floor’s main hallway carpets had floor fans running as the carpet was wet. Overall we don’t recommend staying...

"Such a unique place to stay. Loved the vibe, loved the room. Decor is very cool and lots of thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome. Midtown is up and coming and it can be loud at night with the cruising and loud stereos but we were so relaxed in our room it didn’t bother us at all. We weren’t aware of the sauna until check out but the front office staff were kind enough to give us the code so we could check it out before we left. The sauna is an absolute vibe.
