"The Mermaid Inn is a special place. So much history around every corner. It's a really gorgeous setting, with period detail throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, and rapidly corrected an error made during check-out. Breakfast was delicious and you can tell they use high quality ingredients in everything. "Staff were friendly and the property itself exudes vintage elegance. Unfortunately our room (Room 5 on ground floor) smelt extremely strongly of damp, so we didn't unpack any belongings. Despite opening windows and airing the room, there remained a very strong smell. There is obviously a long-term damp problem with this room which the owners should really get fixed."
