"We took a long weekend and stayed at The Lake House for the first time. This is a wonderful place. Peaceful and quiet, we enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the water. It was clean and comfortable and felt like home. Highly recommend!"

"From being able to read on the history of the farm. It was the perfect place for us to stay with my kids and mother as we got ready for my daughter’s wedding. Enough room to be able to sit relax visit with family and truely feel home! Seeing nature out in the yard. They were very quick to answer questions working with us abc all! 10 out of 10 worth the stay! We will for sure book again!!"

"Had a nice stay. The house was as described. Just a note that there are steps to each bedroom. If you have someone in your party that cannot do stairs that could be an issue. The house had a great view and the outside deck was amazing. Plenty of parking for our group."

"A perfect little place to rest and enjoy a night away. The cabin is decorated beautifully. Lots of little extras. It's obvious the owners want you to have a good experience! The river is so peaceful. Highly recommend."

"Work stay but worth the daily drive to CR."

"This is a quiet place to stay in the heart of downtown Elkader. Roomy with a sitting room and dining area in addition to the bedroom. The bathroom could be larger or offer more space for getting ready as the sink is very small with no counter. "

"Was in town for a gravel race and was great to be able to just bike around. Plenty of options to eat and hangout in town and quite at night. The place had everything i needed and more!! "

"This unique place has it all: charm, class, comfort, beauty, and fun. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous staircase leading to most of the rooms. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious bathroom. The gourmet kitchen is equipped for anything and everything with seating for eight. The adjoining dining room has a large table with additional seating and windows lining two walls. And clean! This VRBO was impressively clean! I have to say the jail was a little eery after dark, but...
