"This was a 4 day getaway to relax. While there is no water view from the property, a short walk and some steps led us to the perfect semiprivate beach. There were umbrellas, chairs and 2 kayaks available to use. Despite it being mid September, the water was swimmable and the temps were high 80s. We brought our dogs with us and they loved swimming in the water. I can't speak to how busy it is during the peak summertime, but we had the entire stretch to ourselves. Loved that! "The location of this hotel is ideal. Close to Michigan City, New Buffalo and a 5 min walk to the lake. The hotel offers so many things for the convenience of the guests. We stayed in Suite 11 which happens to be the only room with direct balcony access overlooking the pool which was great. We had 1 bedroom and a couch with a pull out bed. The bedroom bed was excellent however the pull out bed was sub par. Extremely uncomfortable. There was no maid service or turndown service like a normal hotel...

"Cool beachy vibe, easy in and out access. Walking distance to beach and close proximity to local coffee shops and wineries. The space was cozy and sort of like an extra large hotel room with full kitchenette. If you are looking for something different than the common hotel definitely recommend. The only thing i would change is the shower head...plenty of water pressure but thats just one simple easy change. We loved the stay."

"We had an amazing stay at this property with our large family that included all ages—from toddlers to grandparents—and it couldn’t have been a better fit. Tim, the host, was exceptional. We had so much fun, and the house was the perfect size, we each had our own space plus great gathering rooms when we played games or just sat around and chatted. "We stayed in the Troll's Den with our family of 4 and it was just perfect. Easy checkin and good amenities. The property manager communicated everything that we needed to know and got us wristbands for the amenities, including paddle boats and playground. It was less than a mile walk to the beach. Lake Michigan was cold because we were there in May, so it felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Overall a great trip. The kids keep asking when we can go back."
