Relax, you've discovered your secluded winter wonderland here at Idlehour.

  • Enjoy the peace and quiet at this beautiful cottage. Watch the birds and wildlife. Head to Hidden Valley for a ski or bring your sleds to cruise the gromed trails. Take a short drive to Huntsville, Dwight or Algonquin Park. Arrowhead Park has incredible skating.

    Have a fire upstairs(wood provided) snuggle, watch a movie, do a puzzle or play some board games. Internet, Satellite TV and BBQ provided with propane.

    3 bedrooms with Queen beds. Basement has a propane insert, darts and is the perfect place for the kids to play games and watch movies. 2 single beds downstairs. Kitchen is fully equiped with new counters.

    All beds have mattress and pillow protectors, sheets and towels are not provided.

Spacious cottage with well equipped kitchen and comfy bed. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck with a book, beer or glass of wine while enjoying the view of the lake. Close to beautiful Algonquin Park for hikes and walks and close to Huntsville for a meal out or some shopping.

Had a great week. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. The lake is beautiful. Enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets from the dock each night. Thanks for a great week!!

Great spot for the whole family. Views of the lake by the cozy fire meant we were never sad when the weather wasn't behaving. One of the most responsive hosts I have ever dealt with.

This is a BEAUTIFUL spot! The whole property is lovely. The cottage is very clean and cozy, the stonework is gorgeous, dock is new and sturdy. Fully equipped kitchen. There is an easily accessible boat launch-very handy. We were easily able to contact the owner if we had any questions. Definitely a 5 out of 5 stay. And, Huntsville is so interesting! Thank you!

This was my second visit to Idlehour, and the property has only gotten better. I cannot stress enough just how good a deal this property is, so much space and a very nice and thoughtful host to top it off.Stop looking at other properties in the area, you're not gonna find a better place and host than this in the entire region!

Loved our second stay here. The cottage is so comfortable and has all that we would want for our 3 night get away, 2 adults and 2 teens.

The view is incredible. The cottage is charming, especially when the wood fireplace is roaring. There were lots of games to play, the kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and pots and pans. Steve was great to communicate with. Bring hand towels and as well as bath towels.

Wonderful spring stay

We had a great stay, and will definitely be back. The cottage is in a beautiful location, is large and comfortable with two fireplaces, and it is close to hiking, towns, restaurants, and anything else you could want.

Our stay was so serene and peaceful. Idle house has a beautiful view of the lake and there were lots of areas to sit outside. We loved the dock and screened in patio. We saw butterflies, ducks and deer. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, and there was a good selection of basics (oil, spices) that helped. It was very quiet (which was great for us) and close to town. The bedrooms were comfortable, we brought our own sheets/towels but the quilts are provided. There was a small beach just a quick walk down the road, but it was also easy to walk into the water beside the dock. The dock was lovely, and the sun hit early in the morning and later in the afternoon, which is perfect for hot days. Steve was very responsive and gave excellent directions to find the Idle house, and was very inclined to ensure we enjoyed our stay!

The property was amazing, and Steve was extremely friendly, organized, and helpful. The cottage was clean, and had lovely spaces and views. The view of the lake was gorgeous.
