LAKE LURE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR RECREATIONAL BOATING, FISHING OR SWIMMING IN 2025 SEASON. Although the lake is closed while Hurricane Helene cleanup continues, there is much that our beautiful foothills areas has to offer. Mallard Cove is welcoming guests. Come to Mallard Cove as a peaceful retreat and "home base" for visiting nearby towns, restaurants, shops, hiking areas, and seasonal special events in Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain, Saluda and Tryon. Golf is open to the public at Rumbling Bald and local area wineries, breweries, trails, music are within an hour's drive. Many of the Chimney Rock shops are set up at the Tryon International Equestrian Center Pavilion. Come support these wonderful local businesses!

Mallard Cove is a picturesque 4600 square ft. spacious 4 bedroom/plus 2 queen sleeper sofas, lakefront estate on a private cove. Nestled in 5 acres of wooded beauty, the home is a sanctuary - perfect for family reunions, holidays, vacations & retreats. Great for a quiet getaway, or a long fun weekend. Mallard Cove has an outdoor stone fireplace, in-ground hot tub, patio area, game room with Pool/Ping-Pong table & more!

MALLARD COVE LAYOUT:

MAIN LEVEL: Easy, no-stairs front entrance from the covered drive into Foyer. Open floor plan Kitchen with large island, 2 sinks, 2 ovens, kitchen dining table seats 6, conversation area, gas fireplace, TV. Adjacent to the Kitchen is a separate formal Dining Room with beautiful custom table, seating for 8, stone walls & wood Post and Beam structure. Beyond the Dining Room is a Family Room with HD smart TV, cathedral ceiling, stone wood-burning fireplace. Half Bath just off the Entry Foyer. Screened Porch with additional dining/ gas grill (propane provided).

UPPER LEVEL: 1300 square ft. Master Bedroom Suite with King Bed, Smart TV, large custom Dressing/Closet area, Bonus Room Queen sleeper-sofa and desk area. Master Bath is spacious, 2 vanity sink areas, huge walk-in shower, jetted tub.

LOWER LEVEL: FR with combo Pool Table/Ping-Pong Table, HD TV, Queen sleeper-sofa. Kitchenette/Bar area. Three Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with two Twin Beds & Bedroom 2 with Queen Bed are separated by Jack-N-Jill Bath with double sinks, combo tub/shower. Guest Bedroom 3 with Queen Bed, Full Bath with one sink, combination tub/shower. This bath has a door from the hallway to serve Family/Game Room. Family/Game Room opens onto stone walkway to inground pool/hot tub.

LAKEFRONT: Double Boathouse has a spacious Rooftop Deck, lots of outdoor seating. A long Pier extends from the Boathouse to Outdoor patio/fire pit area.
MALLARD COVE IS:
A few minutes to Ingles grocery, restaurants, hiking trails, zip-lining.
Near restaurants, breweries, wineries, Tryon International Equestrian Center, Hendersonville, Saluda, Hiking trails.
Close to golf courses at Rumbling Bald. Public can golf (reservations required via RB) & use restaurants-no other use of RB amenities permitted. Golfing also at Cleghorn Golf Rutherfordton

Phenomenal Property

I would 100% recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to Lake Lure. The check in process was easy and the property manager was so responsive and helped us to be prepared. The home itself is stunning and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. I would come back in a heartbeat and honestly had the best stay!!

Perfect Week at the Lake

Mallard Cove exceeded or expectations. The home was in a private cove, conveniently located to Ingles and multiple lakeside dining options. Boathouse, dock and fire pit were a hit! —Kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. The house was stocked with everything we needed to feel like home. The pontoon boat was spacious and clean. We will definitely be back next year!

Great week at Mallard Cove!

Our family stayed for a week at Mallard Cove. It was probably the nicest home that we have ever stayed in on Lake Lure. All of the beautiful pictures on the website could not begin to depict the beauty and detail in this great house. The house was well appropriated with all needs being met and many fine details to make the stay wonderful. Also, I have to give a shout out to Buffalo Junction Properties and Sue Gage. We had a few minor issues that were addressed immediately and efficiently by the property managers. They were helpful and easy to get a hold of. I would recommend the house at Mallard Cove and Buffalo Junction Properties with 7 stars if there was such a qualification.

Nick’s Weekend

The property was absolutely, amazingly beautiful! Everything we needed was right there!! The only time we left the house was to go get groceries, or to go on a little boat ride! By far one of the nicest places we have stayed!! The owners were super nice, and easy to communicate with! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a private, quite getaway!! Definitely will come back to this location!

Great 3 day getaway

We chose this house for our yearly get away. It was perfect for our needs. Very clean and well appointed. Use of the pontoon boat, kayaks and paddle boards was one of the reasons that we chose this property. Lake Lure is beautiful and the house is located on a quiet cove with an amazing view. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place for small family gathering in Lake Lure

Mallard Cove was absolutely wonderful! My two children and their spouses, my husband and I couldn’t have found a better place. The house has plenty of spaces fir everyone to gather or sit back and relax. We really enjoyed the hot tub, pontoon boat and sitting in the deck.
