Best vacation home ever

This place is well equipped with a fully stocked, beautifully remodeled kitchen. We loved being able to have a few people cooking at the same time and have enough space to not drive each other crazy. Our favorite part is the island with both cooking space and seating/bar level. There's a nice family room where you can play ping pong, board games or just watch tv together. Every room was not only aesthetically pleasing but comfortable as well. My family is already planning a return trip.

Memorial Weekend Getaway

Very impressed with the cleanliness of the home, the well stocked kitchen actually has some of the best options for pans, pots , dishes etc compared to other homes we have rented over the many years of visiting Lake Arrowhead . A tremendous plus is the fenced backyard that allowed our dog to go out without constantly having to be on a leash. Comfy beds, extra blankets and pillows available if needed. Laundry room off the kitchen was an added convenience. Proximity to golf course and Grass Valley Lake was great to walk around . Loved the big deck and enjoyed lounging in the afternoon out there. The owners obviously took great care in furnishing the home . Our family agrees it's the best dog friendly place we have had the opportunity to visit. Because the driveway is steep, we'd be a little hesitant to come up in winter, but it's likely manageable for those with good experience in snow. Thank you for your hospitality!!!

Memorial Weekend Getaway

My family has rented several properties over many years in Lake Arrowhead- this home was one of the very best for multiple reasons. Cleanliness was evident. Furnishings are newer and clean. The kitchen is better stocked than most with thoughtful extras like popcorn and hot chocolate. Comfy beds-, convenient laundry room, gas fireplace, plenty of seating, and a wonderful deck that we enjoyed . Being a pet friendly home, the fenced back yard was a welcomed addition as many if not most of the homes in the area do not have fences. The management team were very easy to communicate with. They do control the heating in the home and with a quick call, we had it adjusted. The driveway is pretty steep- so we would only rent in months when snow is not the norm- but if you are experienced during those winter months, you would be better at it than me! Being so close to the golf course and Grass Valley Lake is also very nice- definitely a well taken care of property that deserves a 5 star review!

A very nice property and well managed.

Our family stayed at this property for 6 nights - 2 of the nights were unplanned due to being snowed in during one of biggest snow storms the area had seen in many years! Positives: 1. Clean, new 2. beautiful tree lined views from front living room 3. TV's in every room 4. Large entertainers room on bottom floor 5. large and well stocked with utensils etc. 6. Well managed by the Evolve Team. We were in constant contact with the manager and she helped us get out of a really bad situation being snowed in and running out of food! Negatives: 1. The driveway is steepish, narrow, long and runs perpendicular to the property's front line. This driveway became our nightmare with a large storm covering our car in 4 ft+ of snow. We had to spend quite of bit of money to hire workers for snow removal to help to get our car out and back down the driveway 2. It is 4 or so miles away from the Village. Some like this isolation. Next time, we'd like to stay closer to the Village and the Lake. 3. The air temperature is managed remotely. In the middle of a blizzard, it became hot in some rooms where we had to open the windows. I believe tenants should be able to control their own temperature without having to make calls to the property manager Final Comments: A nice, big clean property in the beautiful trees of Lake Arrowhead. Not for us in the future, but I'm sure many will continue to enjoy it! I also would highly recommend the Evolve Team. They did a great job in communicating with us during a trying time to be in Lake Arrowhead..

Great place for a reunion

We celebrated our mom's 84th b-day, Father's day and our annual family reunion at the Zen Playhouse. The kitchen was well-used by our party as it was abundantly well-equipped. The 2nd/main floor was very spacious which allowed us to move around freely. The living room served as a semi-quiet spot for some of us to sit back and just enjoyed the "show". There were plenty of supplies in the bathrooms as well. All the beds were very comfortable; everyone slept very well. Everything was in working order, except the primary bathroom's shower drain that still needs to be fixed and the 3rd floor's toilet. There is a bathroom on each floor; the listing pics were a bit misleading. Fans were provided on the 3rd floor as it was warmer than the rest of the house. The weather was in the mid-80's and the temperature in the house was very comfortable. We enjoyed the view from the living room, especially the swallows! The cleaning crew did a good job prior to our arrival, however there were clothing items left behind by the previous visitor in drawers and a cupcake in a kitchen cupboard (LOL), but nothing was in the way. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and found the house to be perfect for our family reunion. This was our first time booking with Evolve. The booking was easy, and our guest contact, Dyani, was awesome! She answered all of our questions and provided plenty of info on the house and surrounding area prior to the visit. She and her team were able to accommodate our early arrival and late departure. (We did make sure that we coordinated this ahead of time though. At first the late departure was not approved, and she nicely explained the reason with a promise that she would let us know if that could be approved as we got closer to the check-out day. We understand, and appreciated, the coordination between Dyani and her team resulting in our late departure approval.)

Fantastic house and location!

We go to the Big Bear/Lake Arrowhead area each year and we love this particular neighborhood for its peacefulness and proximity to hiking trails while still being close to the Village and an easy drive to Big Bear. The house was perfect for our family of four, and could easily accommodate a larger group. The kitchen was the most well-stocked kitchen we’ve had in a vacation rental and the fenced-in yard was great for our pup. We found the house clean and welcoming when we arrived. We would absolutely choose this property again! The inability to control the thermostat isn’t ideal, but we bundled up with extra sweaters and blankets. Overall a fantastic stay!

Last Minute Demands

I was called by a property manager (the night before our scheduled stay) who told me that as I was bringing dogs, I had to pay a large security deposit, in addition to the amount I had already paid through VRBO. I said fine; but then she asked for my credit card number over the phone. I told her that VRBO had my info, but she said she couldn't access that. If I didn't give this stranger my credit info, she would withhold the entrance code to the property and we would be locked out. I has very uncomfortable doing this. Future renters should be told that the driveway, which is the only place to park, is very steep and difficult to negotiate. It can only be entered from one direction. There are no pine/evergreen trees on the property, so no shade.

Perfect Thanksgiving

We gathered as a family at this beautiful home and had the most memorable time. The heart of the home is the ample kitchen and island. Perfect for families wanting to spend time together in beautiful Lake Arrowhead. Will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful Stay

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Zen Patio Playhouse. The property was incredibly comfortable, clean and thoughtfully furnished with amenities and activities for everyone. Peggy Ann is a gracious, attentive and very friendly host. She made sure we had everything we needed and that we comfortable during our stay. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the property. Thank you!

Family weekend getaway.

The home is in a nice quiet neighborhood. There is more than enough space. We enjoyed our stay especially the views of the fall trees transitioning in a variety of colors. When arriving everything was clean and neat this created a relaxing environment. We had group of 12 and fit comfortably. There was a lack of TV's each bedroom. This would of been nice for each family to enjoy while resting in their own bedrooms. Overall it was a very nice house with amazing views and would definatly recommend for a nice get away.

Perfect space for a family gathering!

The property was just as described with plenty of room for everyone. I was a little disappointed that the bbq was out of propane and the microwave was broken as we came prepared to use the grill for dinner, but started too late to run into town to fill. (Would have greatly appreciated that being "guest ready".) Other than that, the house felt private and had great views from the living area. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Initially I was worried that this place might not be what the picture shows, but I was wrong it’s such a clean and spacious place!( we had 12 people in our party) Every single person enjoyed being at this house and no complaints. If I had to complain about something it would be Ants in the game room area but you’re in the mtns, what do you expect( no bugs?) Thank you to the prop manager and owners they were kind and responded very quickly. Thank you got a comfortable stay! I will be reaching out to rent more from you

Beautiful Mountain Home

It is a clean and beautiful mountain home. The kitchen is large and perfect for the family to gather and talk while making meals. The two outside areas are wonderful for eating and drinking coffee while visiting. When the sun gets too hot on the upper deck, head downstairs to the lower patio with shade. The kids were entertained with the ping pong table, games, and dartboard. We really enjoyed our stay. The only disappointment was the air conditioning. It is very cold on the lower level and very warm upstairs with the bedrooms. It was a hot week we stayed (90's) and the upper bedrooms did not cool off at all. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Great home!

The house was located in a nice quiet neighborhood with a fantastic view. We loved the cleanliness of the home and open floor plan on the main level. The kitchen was wonderful. We had a great time staying here!

Cozy getaway

Very quiet neighborhood. It was very cozy and clean. Beds were super soft. Lots of space to hang out and relax while kids can play.
