Privately owned two bedroomed apartment nestled within a beautiful, traditional fishing village, furnished to high standard, equipped with everything you need to make this your home for the duration of your holiday. Situated within walking distance from village square and local beaches, and only a few seconds walk to communal pool

One double bedroom (ensuite) and one twin room, 1 family bathroom and separate cloakroom. Large, open plan living and dining area with patio doors opening onto private terrace. The terrace provides an ideal place to eat and relax whilst taking in the scenery and sun. 4 sunbeds, patio table, chairs and umbrellas for your use. Both bedrooms also open onto private courtyard - perfect for quiet times. Fitted stair gate and a selection of buckets and spades make the property ideal for little people.

Fully equipped kitchen giving you the option to enjoy meals at home. Linen provided. Reception also to hand where friendly staff can provide you with local information on things to do in the Algarve


Ferragudo Village: This quaint fishing village, with all its restaurants, bars and cafes, is located in the middle of the Algarve. You can meander along the quayside, stopping in a restaurant of your choice to sample their delicacies or through the picturesque cobbled streets. The main square, where you can share in the atmosphere with the locals, provides an alternative place to relax. During the summer months there is often musical entertainment here.

You will find all local amenities in the village e.g. banks, post office, daily fish, fruit and veg market, 2 butchers and a bakers. Free WiFi is available in the apartment and at cafe bars in the village square and at the pool snack bar. Within walking distance of Vila Castelo, there are also safe, sandy beaches with restaurants and bars with coastal views. For the more adventurous, there are clifftop walks where you can enjoy magnificent views and the flora and fauna of the Algarve.

Nearby places to visit + activities for all : Portimão, the larger neighbouring town, offers a variety of fashionable shops, nightlife and entertainment. You can also book day trips from here such as dolphin safaris, beautiful sea caves, fishing and a river trip to Silves. Silves is a historical mountain Moorish town, provides a lovely day out - a contrast to the coastal towns. Breathe in fresh mountain air on the way and sample the great fresh food of the region.

Also the opportunity for fishing, surfing, sailing, tennis and golf. Not to forget outings to Zoomarine and Slide & Splash. Numerous leaflets available from Reception at Vila Castelo.

Getting to Ferragudo: Transfer from airport to Ferragudo approximately 45 mins (directions and car hire contact details provided on booking). However, a car is not essential for your stay in Ferragudo. You can take a taxi to and from the airport.

Perfekte Ferienwohnung!

Die Lage der Wohnung ist super, es lassen aich Geschäfte, Restaurants und der Strand in wenigen Gehminuten erreichen. Der Pool in der Anlage ist sauber und ruhig. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr sauber, gut eingerichtet und die Vermieter sind nett und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden ganz toll bei allem unterstützt und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Vielen Dank!

Property as expected with previous reviews. Dated in places, couldn't read dials on cooker and hob, bedding needs updating. Lovely sunny large terrace and pool area but listing needs updating as the pool bar isn't open. Plenty of exercise walking to the village and back, which suited us but could be an issue in peak season

Great apartment, very good location

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was larger than we expected, well equipped, with a lovely terrace where we enjoyed eating breakfast every day, and a couple of evening meals. George, local concierge, did a great job and was very responsive - check in was really easy and he sorted the one issue we had during our stay very quickly. The apartment is really well located: half-way between the main beach and the town, less than ten minutes walk to both. Shared pool is 20m from the apartment - it was clean and never too busy, with plenty of sun loungers. We enjoyed the town of Ferragudo a lot - it's very pretty, with enough restaurants and bars to make the nightlife interesting but not at all rowdy. Overall a really great place - highly recommended.

Great location and space

Highly recommend Ferragudo as Algarve base - very authentic fishing village, less touristy than many. Unit is well located and a good size and reasonably outfitted - except outside furniture needs replacing (at a minimum, should be cleaned before arrival) and linens are worn out.

Perfect base for a perfect holiday

The terrace was great with a lovely view. 20m from the pool. Location was ideal for visiting many breaches and taking a trip to Silves. George, the property manager, was very helpful. I hope we can come back!

A beautiful restful apartment

The apartment was spotless, very well equipped and comfortable in a fabulous location. We had a warm welcome and felt immediately at home. The apartment terrace was just great - a place to eat and read - with a fantastic sunny aspect. The little swimming pool and cafe is a great bonus. Ferragudo has two great south facing beaches and an awesome castle. The estuary and sea is safe and clean for swimming. It is a pretty town with plenty of friendly bars and cafes. We did lots of cliff walking and exploring. So beautiful. Great holiday. Thank you.

Holiday

This could be a fabulous apartment, it is large and the upstairs is bright and sunny, the location is quiet, pretty and convenient. The terrace is large and has a nice view. Margaret and Peter are super helpful and informative, and very kindly let us check in early, and organised our airport transfer. Ferragudo is a pretty place, easy to stay here without a car. Then apartment is just unloved, dated, poor standard of cleanliness, terrace with dead plants, awkwardly placed very large pots, poor quality furniture, needs another brolly to enjoy the loungers, very old bed linen, threadbare towels, shower in ensuIte needs replacing, as water just comes out the middle in a single stream and cubicle leaks. We only used that shower and the downstairs loo. We used the twin bedroom, we couldn’t open the doors to the terrace as they were double locked and we didn’t know where the keys were. The dvd does not work sticks terribly, it rained for one day ..and we were unable to even watch a dvd...we tried several of the available selection. We didn’t cook, just tea, coffee toast didn’t use the kettle as the spout on the inside had rust on it. Note that no cleaning took place during our 12night stay...so we cleaned ourselves.

Très bon séjour

Le logement est très bien situé et très agréable, nous avons passé un très bon séjour. La terrasse est vraiment agréable et la proximité avec la piscine très appréciable pour se rafraîchir après 1 journée de visite. Le seul point négatif est la literie car les matelas sont très durs.

Beautiful Ferragudo

We have just returned from a great trip to Ferragudo saying in Peter's lovely house. House had lots of space and we particularly enjoyed the lovely terrace. Swimming pool is close by and lots of restaurants and the beach in easy walking distance. Wish we could have stayed longer! Big thank you to Peter for being so accommodating and moving our booking during covid plus answering my many queries. We hope to return.

The check in procedure was a key under the mat! The Property Manager (George) did not reply to the message we sent before we left - we got him on the phone on the way to the property when he told us the key was under the mat. He came out to see us the following morning when we had called him regarding the poor plant pots on the terrace which were dried out and he hosed down the terrace. He gave us some recommendations of places to walk to for restaurants. We thought the area was pleasant and enjoyed the pool.

Confortable, tranquille, bien équipée, bon emplacement si on considère le contexte "urbanisé". Suggestions: un peu moins fouillis (les ustensiles de ménage), un change supplémentaire de serviettes de bains, oreillers du grand lit en meilleurs état.

Lovely Ferragudo

The property is older but well maintained, with a large terrace. Not sure if it was the time of year (winter), but we had to empty the de-humidifier daily to prevent dampness. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen with a good supply of baking dishes, pots and pans. The location is perfect for a walk to the village square for a meal or beverage, or to the cliffs to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Schönes Appartment mit großer Terrasse

Das Appartment besticht durch seine große Terrasse, von der man einen schönen Blick in die Umgebung hat; sogar einen kleinen Teil vom Meer kann man sehen. Es liegt in der Anlage Vila Castelo, die sehr gut gepflegt ist. Die Lage ist hervorragend: Nah zum Ort Ferragudo (5 min zu Fuß) und nah am Strand. Das geht kaum besser.

Sunny Terrace

Property manager was very helpful and we were delighted to find a welcome pack on arrival. We loved sitting out on the sunny terrace and enjoyed the views over Ferragudo.

The property literally had everything we needed. If we are going to be picky, we'd say that it is a little dated and in order to cater for 2020 visitors should have a few more 'mod-cons'. we enjoyed our visit and this wouldn't put us off returning in the future. many thanks

3-day at Vila Castello

The property was very nice and even though the property manager never showed up, called, or texted, we found the key under the door mat and were able to get inside. We had a great time. The location is outstanding. As a suggestion, a property book explaining the AC, WIFI, location for trash disposal, etc. would be nice.

Fantastic location

We had a wonderful restful week at Ferragudo. The accommodation is next to the pool and close to the beach and village. We loved using the upper sun terrace and did yoga every morning on the lower terrace!

Hervorragend!

Was für eine tolle Unterkunft. Wir waren als Familie zu fünft dort und haben wirklich jede Minute genossen. Tolles Haus, tolle Lage. Ein paar Minuten zu den Stränden, in die Ortsmitte und zu hervorragenden Restaurants.

Family holiday

Fantastic apartment within a few seconds to the pool area. Great balcony also. Few minutes walk to the town/restaurants etc and a few minutes the other way to the beach.
