Would definitely stay again but. This place is in desperate need of a refresh. Place is owned by a golf group who are more concerned with the golf side of the business and less concerned about maintaining the same high standards of the hotel. Carpets are shocking all the wooden floors are terribly noisy.

3:30pm. Q'd for 15mins to check-in. Received room key & shown to a single room with a double bed - no room to move around the bed -a terrible room as we had a dog with us as well. (known to the property) I asked if we could book a table for our evening meal. Was told NO. Kitchen will be closed because of the rain storm last night. (Upon arrival kitchen was operational(?) I asked to see a manager. I was told no evening food-this is Cornwall-we had rain & we have floods, our kitchen will close @3.30. I asked why was it open now but not for the evening? We'd travelled 6hrs,had stopped for lunch on-route so just wanted a hot meal in the evening. We'd stayed before & always had an evening. Told 'it is what it is..' Appalling. I asked what are we supposed to do for an evening meal? Was told there was a pub several miles away that MAY serve food. NOT helpful at all. With the abysmal room & NO evening meal we handed the key back, asked for a refund. (not refunded as yet) We checked into another property an hour away in Port Issac & had a hot meal at 7.30pm. The staff at Inn on the Shore were not bothered & said 'If I was you dear, I'd grab something now as we're not cooking tonight' We'd eaten lunch on route..! Absolutely awful service. This place should've called to say no food available as kitchen closed in the evening but they didn't. Shoddy service all round. If things were bad enough to close the kitchen due to flooding (& it was a calm, dry day) how did they cook lunches?

We had a fantastic stay! Sarah was such a warm and welcoming host from the moment we arrived. The beachfront location is absolutely stunning waking up right by the beach made the trip so special. Our room was spotlessly clean, super comfortable, and had everything we needed. To top it off, breakfast each morning was amazing! Plus, being able to bring our spaniel along made it the perfect getaway for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would love to return.
