Colorado getaway

What a charming place. Opening windows and listening to the stream outside our bedroom window was magical. Great location. Close to the charming village of Cuchara and close to activites. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the location. A couple of notes for owner/property manager: Bushes in back of house around patio need to be trimmed back. Gas grills did not work. Lights in stove top exhaust hood do not work. Thanks you

Another Wonderful Stay

This makes the third time we have stayed here since last August…and we already have a month long stay booked for this Fall. We’ve fallen in love with this property and it never disappoints. The scenery is beautiful, the cabin is fantastic, and Ray (the owner) is incredibly responsive and helpful. Definitely our favorite place to stay and well worth the trip from Texas!

Great place to relax

This property is conveniently located with a running stream completely surrounding the property & grounds. The beds & furniture are comfy. The outdoor living spaces are wonderful. The kitchen is a dream to cook in with all high end appliances. The place itself is amazing, but we could not get the jacuzzi tub to work and, as someone has stated previously, it really needs a deep clean. C. Autrey

Lovely Mountain Getaway

The house on the river is a fantastic location with water surrounding the home and walkable to town. We enjoyed hanging out and relaxing on the patio and listening to the rushing river. The kitchen has high-end appliances and is very well equipped. Wifi was not good at all and TV was not enjoyed due to the internet service. The home needs a deep cleaning to make it really comfortable.

Return Visit

My mom and son and I stayed here last summer and when my in-laws saw the pictures and heard us talking about how wonderful it was, they just had to go to so we booked a Spring Break trip With them. We just returned from this trip and they were not disappointed! If anything, this trip was even more magical thanks to the heavy gorgeous snowfall during our stay.

Beautiful home and property

Very nice place. River running through property but it snowed and covered it. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, beautiful kitchen for our Thanksgiving dinner. Beds were very comfy. The views out all the windows are amazing. A few things there is no central heat like it says so we were not prepared for it to be 43 degrees when we walked in. The fire place & wall heater took 3 hours to heat house with 2 plug in heater. Main heating is the fire place & you need to get up several times at night to add wood. Refrigerator needed to be cleaned out/wiped. Otherwise a great time was had and great memories. May try it again in warmer weather.

Peaceful Running Creek

We enjoyed the sound of the creek running around the cabin on all sides. It was interesting crossing a bridge to get to the front door and to get to the outside sitting area in the back. The arrangement and door openings of the rooms took a little getting used to, but that was probably due to the property previously being a restaurant before the extensive remodel. The kitchen was huge with more than everything you would need. The microwave as a drawer was a new experience; I never saw one like it before. The enormous fireplace and great room made me feel like I was in the ranch house in the movie "Giant". The wood stove inset into the fireplace made it possible to have a fire with small logs, instead of logs the length of trees. We enjoyed sitting under the canopy outside in the back and reading. The only drawback was the shower/tub in the main bedroom. It is apparently a huge jacuzzi/soak tub with really tall sides to try to get into. And the shower wasn't very useful because adjusting the water temp took at least 30 seconds in between every adjustment before the new temp could be felt. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere at the cabin.

Beautiful setting

We enjoyed the comfortable accommodations and well appointed kitchen, and the picturesque outdoor setting with the stream and luscious foliage. Property manager was so nice and helpful in responding to questions.

Great place!

Loved this property and will definitely rent again! We loved how the stream surrounded the entire property! Only disappointing point was the patio, grass, weeds and bushes looked like they have not been maintained in a long time - very overgrown and hard to see stream.

Surrounded by Sreams!

Our stay far exceeded our expectations and hopes. The home is beautiful and cozy, surrounded by a beautiful babbling stream and nestled in the mountains, directly on the Highway of Legends, a beautiful scenic drive. There are many trails for hiking and exploring in the immediate vicinity. There was a bear who made regular midnight visits to the property - our first time to see one in the wild and definitely a highlight of the trip. We made so many special memories and are already looking at dates, trying to decide when we can come back.

One small thing…

Property was impressive in location and met our expectations. However, the cleanliness upon arrival was disappointing. We swept, mopped and took out trash that was left ahead of us. Despite this our stay exceeded all expectations.
