"The place was clean and bedding comfortable. The 2 bedroom listing was a bit deceiving, the 2nd bedroom also includes the kitchenette, dining area and no living or lounging space. The space was very tiny and cramped. The 1 bedroom was a nice size and the bathroom was in there. There was only 1 window and it was high on the wall. The outdoor space was very small. For me it felt a bit claustrophobic and not worth the price we paid."

"This is a delightful location. It's very peaceful and quiet. The burgeoning garden outside the door is lovely! It's possible to walk up the street and right onto a hiking path through a redwood forest, and have the path essentially all to yourself. Julia went above and beyond to help me with an issue I had in making my reservation. She's a kind and hospitable host! Highly recommended."

"This home is an absolute gem in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood! It’s a fantastic mix of antique charm and modern conveniences. The location is superb — a perfect jumping off point to Eureka, Ferndale, and the Redwood National and State Parks. The Humboldt Community Forest trails are just a few steps off the backyard. My kids loved the basketball hoop! We feel so lucky this listing was available for our trip, and we would book again in a heartbeat."

"The biggest miss is that one of the beds was not made. Someone had clearly slept there and there was dirt on the sheets. I wouldn't care if the place was not over 300 per night. Additionally, there were no check-in details, no guide how to get there. A little sentence or two indicating what to look for would have been helpful. It was not immediately clear where to go once we saw the address number on the tree. Google maps took us to the wrong place, something that the host should have checked....

"Awesome cozy house in Arcata. This was one of our stops from our roadtrip up to Oregon from Los Angeles. After staying in cottages in Carmel and Mendocino it was nice to have the relaxing feeling of a house. Our dog enjoyed the yard a lot for roaming. Hope to return. Highly recommend if you are considering staying here."

"Location was super convenient. Walking distance to restaurants, cafes, the movie theater, and a quick drive to the Redwoods. Downtown Arcata is charming and quirky and this home fits right in. This is a warm, cozy, comfy space. Very clean, with everything we could need on hand. Beds were so warm and comfortable. My husband and I traveled with two of our teens and two of their friends. We gave the teens the front bedroom (which is very spacious) and we didn’t hear a peep from them, which was so...

"This little cottage was adorable and I wish we could have had a little longer stay but we were up and exploring most of the time. Great location for a Redwoods visit. The property was clean, the alpaca was super cute and overall unbothered by our presence. The only thing we found a little tricky was knowing which gate to enter the cottage threw, we were unsure if opening up and walking through the alpaca enclosure was the right way to go so just a little more description in the check in...

"Not disclosing the availability of the driveway was a problem. I see why it’s not available but loading and unloading up that very steep driveway was difficult. Also, a floor plan of the property on the listing to understand adjacencies would have been very useful for planning purposes. The amenities of the house were very nice and much appreciated. Quantity and quality of cooking equipment was excellent. Coffee and tea service was outstanding! I would recommend this property"
