Amazing property with beautiful views

We stayed here for a week and the house was fantastic. It was incredibly clean and the pool and jacuzzi were amazing. The driveway was a little difficult to get into as it's right off of the main road. Also there is not a very easy way to walk to the beach from the house except walking beside the main road. Overall though we were incredibly happy with the house and the location and price. We will be staying with them again.

Recommend you stay elsewhere

We’ve been staying in OBX for years and this is one of the more disappointing experiences for the money. Houses of similar price and distance from the ocean had better finishes, more comfortable beds, better amenities, and simple conveniences like salt and pepper in the kitchen. It sort of boggles the mind that when we check in and a kid needs to use the bathroom after the long drive in, there’s no toilet paper in the house. You have to do a grocery run or know to bring literally everything. I’ve been renting houses 20 years and it’s the norm that previous renters leave behind basic spices, dish dishwashing fluid, even laundry pods, and certainly toilet paper. It was a weird experience. Plus someone from the realty company walked into the house midday to clean the hot tub which we hadn’t asked for (we hadn’t even used it by that point) and were not informed of in advance — we saw her walking in the house and were stunned by basically an intruder. For the money, would recommend staying in another house. Sorry folks.

Kitty Hawk 2022

We had a fabulous time at Carolina Cottage, it was the perfect beach getaway! From the pool, to the interior of the house, to the views, just phenomenal!

Beach Get-Away

Very nicely maintained property. Several blocks from beach access (about a 10 min walk). Lots of deck space and a much enjoyed hot tub. Pool was not available (out of season) but is very small--something one would lounge in or splash around for very small children. Kitchen was well appointed and room layout was good with all BRs having direct bathroom access. There were lots of TVs--almost overkill. Small pool table was a fun bonus as were books and games. There is a lot of beachfront and ocean view from the top deck and family room. Home was spotless, but truly stripped of any kitchen and bath consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, spices, shelf-stable food, etc.) so bring what you need or be ready to go shopping. There is some road noise in the back part of the house, but more like white noise. Overall recommended property.

Great rental property. Great location, walkable to the beach. Small pool, great decks. Road noise is a little loud and the downstairs shower clogs easily, but overall a great beach rental.

Happy beach week @ Carolina Cottage

What a clean, tidy, and inviting home! Easy walk (<5min via a well-worn backyard trail) to the beach and on very friendly neighborhood streets. Everything inside the house was terrific and comfortable. And watching sunrise/sunset from the top floor/deck was great. Cannot overstate how organized and well-supplied the kitchen was! We visited too early in the season to use the pool- but it sure looked clean and inviting! Our only slight discomfort- and it's no fault of the owner/mgmt company (who were all great!)- would be the road noise. Thankfully, a nice long driveway allowed for some play under the carport and easy dog-potty-walks. Overall, we'd gladly rent Carolina Cottage again!

Great family vacation

This was a great place for our family vacation. My kids are grown and don’t all live near me so we were able to spend great quality time together. Easy walk to the beach and then would come back and spend time by the pool. We grilled a few times which was also great. Very clean house and the property management company was quick to respond to us. We would definitely stay here again!

Cottage vacation

Beautiful property. Very clean. Close to major highway was a con but you easily forget about it with the view. Very close to the beach and Jockey ridge. We had so much fun. Great barbecue and many places we could take our Maltese Callie. Thank you for your southern hospitality!
