Enjoy plenty of parking on the sidewalk and under the carport before passing by the basketball goal for a little extra outdoor fun on your way in. Don't forget to prepare your fresh catch on the fish cleaning station and rinse off in the Outdoor Shower after a day at the beach. Step out on the covered Mid-Level Deck with a cup of coffee in the morning and soak in the luscious coastal breeze. Spend your days relaxing on the Top Level where a spacious Living Area with a Flat Screen TV beckons. A Short Drive from the Best of Duck
In addition to its prime location just a short walk down the street from the pristine beaches of the Outer Banks, Sunny Lagoon is just a short drive from downtown Duck. Known for being one of the most family-friendly spots on the entire Outer Banks, this charming coastal community is home to a wide array of delicious dining establishments, unique boutiques and retail shops, and water sport rental companies—as well as an 11-acre park complete with nature trails, kayak launches, a picnic shelter, a playground and an amphitheater where dozens of outdoor family-friendly events and activities are held throughout the year.

Downtown Duck also features the popular Duck Town Boardwalk, which runs along the edge of the waters of the Currituck Sound. This mile-long wooden boardwalk connects to an assortment of waterfront shops and restaurants, and it also offers spectacular views of the shallow waterway that separates the island from the North Carolina mainland to the west. Stop by the boardwalk in the early evening to capture an incredible display of colors in the sky as the sun sinks into the sound at sunset. There's no better place in Duck to witness a better view!

Updating needed. Furniture, carpetting and mattresses are worn/worn out. MANY screens need to be replaced. Door on the screened porch doesn’t have screen in it! The layout and size is quite nice but this property does not well in comparison to the two others we have used.

Nice getaway

We came for the sleepy town and leashless beaches, and included local tourism to beach days such as H2OBX which has a nice "vacation pass" for when beach swimming wasnt an option due to rip tides. We still had 3 really nice beach days which was a short walk away from the house. That being said there were some down sides. Being ON duck road made the deck experience null as relaxing or sitting on your phone was drowned out from the noise from commuter traffic. Also, the decks, outside, and underneath of the property was littered with spiders which we cleared with a broom the first day only to have them return with full webs the next morning - the property really needs sprayed by pest control which we saw other properties being sprayed during our stay so this is a necessary step for this area. Thankfully they didn't make it into the house other than one of our shoes in the foyer which we'd already been checking them before wearing just in case. Beds were too firm for comfort, pillows were flat, and having only blinds in the windows (no curtains) made for unavoidable early wakeups when the sun hit the house (avg of 6am). Also the hammock area in the back had its spider issues but the hammock itself had calcified bits underneath so we didnt trust laying on it for cleanliness and safety (possible dryrot we didn't want to be responsible for busting through). With a little more care this would have been a much more comfortable experience.
