"We found the hotel to be comfortable, with good facilities and overall were well looked after. Our one complaint was that the à la carte breakfast options weren’t available at the weekend as the chef “would be too busy”, and there was no evidence of that with small numbers in the dining room. We mentioned to Reception over the weekend but not on the Monday as we were checking out. Otherwise the hotel was a good choice."

After rushing back downstairs, we were told it didn’t apply — so it really shouldn’t be given to guests at all. The restaurant experience wasn’t any better. Service was poor, the staff complained about making cocktails, and they were spilled twice. The food was average, the wine list wasn’t available, and...
