Beachfront cottage with ocean views - only 5 mins from shops and cafes

A dose of fresh sea air is just what you need tranquil sea views quite literally beckoning you from the front door step, a more fitting place to stay on the Limestone Coast cannot be found.

Built in 1933 to house the intrepid lightkeepers of the Cape Jaffa Lighthouse. It is just a 7mins walk to the jetty, seafood market, hotel, supermarket and cafes. Best of all you can return home to your beautiful seaside retreat to unwind- just choose a nook and settle in with a book and a glass of wine!

The space

Overlooking the serene Lacepede Bay in Kingston SE you get to turn the key in the lock of a very special cottage which will transport you back in time when the role of the lighthouse keepers was essential in safeguarding shipping.

Lovingly restored and passionately maintained, the house is a savvy blend of original spaces with chic touches of practical modernity. It’s gorgeous high ceilings and tasteful interior colours give every room a light airy feel. You feel awed by it’s timeless design but relaxed by the homely vibes inviting you to unpack the suitcase in your chosen room, to then congregate round the breakfast counter to sip on beverages as you all plan on how to enjoy your time.

Guest access

The space is entirely yours with a large front and back lawn area for the kids to play on, including front porch and back deck for alfresco dining.

Other things to note

The house is fully plumbed with rain water.

It includes a hot water plumbed outdoor shower to wash the sand away in comfort.

A very unique experience

The property is iconic, beautifully restored and in an excellent location. We were part of a bigger group spread across three holiday rentals in Kingston. Not surprisingly everyone gravitated to the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage for shared meals & to take in the sunsets. A magic time had by all. Thank you 🙏

Cozy cottage

Great presentation, location, and comfortable beds. Unfortunately towels were thin and couches uncomfortable and although there was heating in the LR and bedrooms, it was very cold in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Quiet location with easy beach access close to wineries

Perfect stay in the Lighthouse keepers cottage. Very relaxing and safe for kids. Beautiful front and back yard. Comfy beds. Perfect for two families with kids.

Kingston perfection

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Light Keepers Cottage. We would definitely recommend visiting. It’s gorgeous, airy and light. In the middle of winter, the house was cosy and warm. It was the perfect getaway for a long weekend to explore SA’s south east. Also worth doing the light house tour just down the road. We had such a great time.
