This is the real Montana experience. Located in the ponderosa pines. The lake is a 5-10 minute walk from AX's Lumber Jack Inn. Public access boating, fishing and hiking trails within walking distance. You will see wild game on your drive up and also at the Inn.
44 miles to Glacier 24 miles to whitefish 14 miles to Kalispell
This converted old barn. It has two private places in one building you can book both sides and bring the family. There is a private deck, Grill,picnic table, fire pit.
Log queen, sofa and an ottoman that turns into a single bed, fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer.

Kalispell

The inside of the lodge was as advertised and well stocked with supplies. The bed was very comfortable, but the couch was very old and stained so we laid a blanket on it. The outside of the property was horrible. The grass was knee high in and around the fire pit. It appears that the adjoining unit has long term renters, not VRBO guests.

We went to Kila to check out a home we wanted to buy, we only had two days before we had to get back to Washington. We had a very relaxing time during our stay, loved the wildlife and farm animals.

Our Stay at the Bugling Elk

It was an adventure and we loved it. A little off the beaten path, but we enjoyed being surrounded by nature. Our stay was very comfortable, with everything we needed. A nice kitchen set up, an area to comfortably relax and play games or watch movies. Bikes and kayak were available to enjoy the near by lake. Our stay at the Bugling Elk was fun, relaxing and enjoyable.

Great little place

The only things I would say could be improved would be that the couch pull-out bed is broken on the end. It appears someone tried to zip-tie it together but had a larger child or adult been sleeping on it, it would not have worked as the entire bottom sagged to the the floor. A small window A/C unit would have been a life-saver at night. It was so hot. But that being said, the place was super cute and functional. The property was nice. The kids loved the horses, goats and dogs. The outside cooking option was great. I would stay here again.
