Welcome to our new vacation home in the heart of the Eifel!

Our retreat, furnished with love and passion, is located on the outskirts of the small village of Loogh in the picturesque Vulkaneifel.

Experience the unique charm of our vacation home, which blends harmoniously with nature. Large panoramic windows overlooking meadows, forests, and wildlife offer you a pure natural spectacle: Deer are regular visitors to the meadows surrounding the house at dusk. At night, you’ll have a fantastic view of the starry sky over the Eifel—since 2019, the region has even been recognized as an “International Dark Sky Park.”

As soon as you arrive, you’ll feel the landscape and nature help you slow down. Enjoy the breathtaking view from our cozy lounge on the first floor. Whether you’re reading a good book or sipping a glass of wine on the comfortable lounge chair, you’ll find pure relaxation here. In the spacious

bathroom, a glass sauna with a view of the forest awaits you—the perfect place to unwind.

The spacious living and dining room invites you to linger and offers the perfect setting for social evenings or shared cooking adventures. Our fully equipped kitchen with a cooking island leaves nothing to be desired. A special highlight is the collection of artistic paintings and photographs, which give the house a unique touch.

Our vacation home can accommodate up to four adults. The two bedrooms are located on the upper floor—with floor-to-ceiling windows, they offer a great view.

Loogh is situated along Stage 8 of the Eifelsteig trail from Mirbach to Hillesheim and is a paradise for hikers and cyclists, with well-marked trails. Explore the fascinating surroundings right from the vacation home, with highlights such as the Dreimühlen Waterfall, the Arensberg volcanic crater, or the juniper nature reserve on the Hönselberg.

Golfers will also find plenty to enjoy: less than a 10-minute drive away, nestled in stunning countryside, is the Eifel Golf Club. The 70-hectare, 18-hole course is a par-72 natural golf course featuring mature trees, ponds, and biotopes.

In the surrounding area, it’s worth visiting the Dauner Maare, the Gerolstein Dolomites, or the impressive Kasselburg Castle with its exciting eagle and wolf park near Gerolstein. A detour to the nearby “crime novel capital” of Hillesheim, home to Café Sherlock, is also highly recommended. Great destinations for day trips include the picturesque town of Bad Münstereifel or the fascinating Roman city of Trier with its Porta Nigra, amphitheater, and Imperial Baths.

After you book, you’ll immediately receive a booking confirmation that includes a link to our digital travel guide. This travel guide not only provides you with all the important information about your accommodations but also includes our personal recommendations. You’ll find tips on restaurants, hiking trails, and recreational activities, as well as many other useful suggestions to help you make the most of your stay with us. No later than three days before your arrival, you’ll receive a personalized code from us for self-check-in via smart lock. This allows you flexible and hassle-free access to your vacation home.

We place great importance on making your stay as pleasant as possible. That’s why we’re always here for you, both before and during your stay. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Town:

Loogh is a small town, which is part of its special charm. A farm store run by the local Eifel farm cheese dairy is open 6 days a week, as is the associated restaurant, Gröner Hof (except during the winter break). In Hillesheim, 7 km away, you’ll find a selection of restaurants, cafés, and numerous shopping options (REWE:XL, Lidl, etc.).

The Nürburgring and the famous Dauner Maare are just a 20- to 30-minute drive away. The Roman city of Trier and the majestic Eltz Castle are only about an hour away.

The Vulkaneifel region around Hillesheim is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. Numerous hiking trails, including the Eifelsteig, the “Genuss-zu-Fuß” hiking trail, as well as the Kalkeifel and Kylltal bike paths, invite you to enjoy unforgettable tours through the picturesque landscape, some of which follow disused, old railroad tracks.

House Rules

1. Household Items and Damage

Please treat our household items with care. Please return used dishes to the cabinets clean and dry, close the dishwasher, and dispose of trash in the black trash can in the garage. If any damage occurs to furniture or furnishings, please notify us immediately so we can address the issue.

2. Noise Levels and Quiet Hours

Please be considerate of our neighbors and keep the volume of music or TV at a reasonable level. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 p.m.

3. Visitors

Your visitors are welcome in our vacation home. However, you are not permitted to allow unannounced guests to stay overnight. If the number of guests changes, please let us know in advance so we can prepare the vacation rental accordingly.

4. Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire property.
Smoking is only permitted in fully open outdoor areas. Please keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke from entering the house.
If a smoke odor does develop in the property, we will have to charge you for the resulting special cleaning costs (e.g., ozone treatment).

5. Pets

Pets are not permitted in our vacation home.

6. Security and Valuables

Before leaving the vacation home, close all windows and the front door, and turn off all electronic devices. We assume no liability for the loss of valuables during your stay.

7. Cleaning

Our cleaning service will perform the final cleaning after your departure. However, please remove any major messes in advance and leave the apartment swept clean. The trash can for household waste is located in the garage.

8. Environment

We care about the environment. Please turn off lights and electronic devices when they are not in use, and conserve water. Thank you very much!

9. Electric Cars—Charging

Charging electric cars using the property’s electrical system is not permitted.

10. Candlelight

Lighting candles is strictly prohibited in the vacation home. However, to create a cozy atmosphere, you may light a candle in the fireplace—but please be careful.

House Rules for the Sauna

1. Health & Use

Use of the sauna is at your own risk. Please pay attention to your well-being and leave the sauna immediately if you feel unwell. People with health conditions should consult a doctor beforehand.

2. Hygiene

Please shower before using the sauna and use a large towel as a mat on the benches. You may enter the sauna in swimwear, but do not place wet swimwear on the wooden benches.

3. Temperature & Infusions

The sauna reaches high temperatures—make sure you acclimate to the heat gradually. Please use only the provided infusions, as other substances may damage the sauna or pose a safety risk.

4. Safety & Ventilation

After use, please ventilate the sauna for at least 15 minutes. The sauna door must not be left open continuously while the sauna is in operation. Please make sure the sauna is properly turned off after use.
