"We absolutely loved the property - it was a peaceful, tropical retreat. The guest house was super clean and very well provisioned and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. There were pineapples, papayas, plumeria, orchids and so much more. It was so relaxing to sit on the lanai in the evening with a cool drink and listen to the sounds of the tree frogs and the burbling of the koi pond."

"The grounds were amazing. We were allowed to pick our own fruits like papaya, sapote, banana, mountain apple, avocado, cacao, etc. The property was clean and cozy, and the outdoor shower was very nice. Only downside was a couple of loud coqui frogs at night, and it was a bit of a drive to Hilo."

"Nice to have three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Screened lanai was very nice. Was a little too far from town, groceries, and activities for us. To be fair, the listing says no AC, but we really wish the home had air conditioning as it is very hot and humid here. This is not a cool oasis at the end of a hot Hawai’i day of fun. You will have to take all of your own trash to a transfer station, so if your rental car is already tight with people and luggage, plan ahead. Home well equipped with pots,...

I strongly recommend a stay here if the Volcano National Park is in your plans. …or one could choose to stay at Volcano House for hundreds of dollars more plus having to buy all your meals! We were very pleased with Jungalo Bungalow!"
