Enjoy salty breezes and the beautiful ocean view from this comfortable two-bedroom, two-bath condo where the ocean is literally a short stroll from your door. 2 kings and sofa-bed can accommodate your whole family, and every room is connected to a lanai. Catch Hawaii's tropical rays from the wrap-around lanai of this 2nd floor corner unit or from the pool and lawn located below. Take in the view of the rugged Kona coast just beyond the common area and unwind to the tranquil sounds of the ocean surf. Built right on the Kailua coastline, Kona Makai condos are just minutes from downtown activities surrounding Kailua Bay. This ocean front complex features pool, spa, BBQ area, and tennis courts.

Please note: This complex is in the process of being painted. This unit is located in building 5 and it has been completed. The complex is also having spalling work (repairs to the cement building) done in preparation for painting the ocean front units of building 6.

Peaceful retreat with amazing sunsets

Stayed there for a week, it was clean, calm, easy to access and well equipped. We loved the Kona Makai complex building, with gorgeous gardens and with the sun setting right in front of us every evening. The number of parking spot is tight but we managed to find a spot every evening. Communication with the property manager was seamless. Would definitely come again!

Beautiful little spot

Downsides: pool rules are repressive. we counted 17 signs telling us how much fun we couldn't have. there's no easy access to the ocean. Upsides: Everything else. great for families. quick drive to some decent beaches and close to town for food and fun. super well cared for property.

Beautiful Oceanfront property

The property was very clean and well taken care of. Amazing oceanfront space with beautiful ocean sunset views! We would definitely recommend this place. It was very relaxing and gave sour family a place to wind down, relax and connect!

Perfect Paradise

We spent two weeks in this gorgeous condo. A lot of time on the wraparound lanai, with views of the ocean and lush grounds. Kona and restaurants were convenient to visit. Clean grills by the ocean, pool, and jacuzzi. We will definitely return to this piece of paradise.

Loved the property, especially the view

The condo was excellent! Best view of the ocean in our option. I got COVID on my second day there, so my stay was not ideal. My husband got it the day before we left. If we go again to the Big Island, we will definitely contact Paul.

Great central location

Condo was just as advertised, we were building 5 with wrap around lanai which was very nice. Some view of water, very comfortable beds, nice lanai, and ac units cooled nicely. Very quiet complex, free and available parking. We hope to come back again. Paul was very nice to deal with, Mahalo Paul.

Met Our Needs For Our 45th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

This is a very nice fully equipped unit with great views of the ocean, convenient access to parking, and nice common area amenitites. Everything worked in the unit. The following are comments for improvements: The common area barbeques do not work well as only only one permanently installed unit would heat up semi-adequately. An additional stand-alone unit is available and recommended if possible. It appears that three additional barbeques are in the process of being installed which may improve the situation. I'm guessing the gas pressure level is low for the installed units as the supply tank is remotely installed and a pressure regulator is installed on the tank rather than on each barbeque. The other issue for me is the bed's mattresses have waterproof covers on them to protect them from guest accidents but this makes for uncomfortable nights when the weather is warm and muggy.

Peaceful and lovely

We loved our stay in this gated community. Beautiful gardens, wraparound lanai, ocean views, close to restaurants and shops. Internet, beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, parking, it was all we needed for our stay there with our kid. Would love to be back.

This property was not available due to the plumbing being replaced. The property Paul found for us was wonderful and we were very pleased. Paul was a great property manager. The ratings are for the property we actually stayed in.

GREAT HOME BASE!

loved our stay at this condo! GREAT location, close to downtown, beaches, beach parks, and day tripping. The grounds are amazing, pool is GREAT, and sunsets on property are a treat! Honestly the only way it could be better would have been ability to swim. In ocean— not optimal here but definitely ocean forward!! Condo had everything we needed for beach trips, cooking etc.. A/C appreciated as it’s been warm and muggy.nights can cool down so grab a beverage snd hit the wrap around deck or 2 min walk down to Oceanside view. There u can Grill-fish purchased from KTA— best fresh fish and wide variety of poke. Giant $2.30 avocados!!! So much to do and see..

10 wonderful days in Kona

Nice condo and resort. Great location, close to stores and restaurants, but not too close. Condo was spotless except for ants. Found one ant hotel in condo but needed more. Condo grounds very well kept but lots of yard maintenance noise several days during the week. Would definitely book again.

Great place!!

Love Kona Makai clean, heated pool, great views! The unit was very nice and well stocked. Could of cooked Christmas dinner- full cabinets! Did use the blender for smoothies. Enjoyed the lanai every nite.

Loved our stay

Overall we really enjoy our stay at this property. Having coffee in the morning while seated out on the the lanai with a beautiful view of the ocean was a morning ritual. The unit was clean and fresh and had everything ready for our arrival. The complex was immaculately maintained and was just a short drive to Kona. Paul, Big Island Front Desk, was just a couple rings away with the answer to any questions we had. Staying here was far better than staying at one of the hotels that charge "resort fees" for things you don't use. When we come back to the "Big Island" we'd definitely return to this property.
