Guest Access:
As guests, you can enjoy full access to the entire home. Only registered guests are allowed unless specifically agreed upon during the booking process.

The Neighborhood:
Joshua Tree Highlands is considered one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the area given its close proximity to the national park as well as its forever northerly vistas of the Mojave Desert. Though you’ll feel like you’re far from civilization, this area sits just a few minutes’ drive from shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree Village and Yucca Valley.

When you’re ready for some outdoor adventure, Joshua Tree National Park’s West Entrance is less than 5 minutes away by car.

Searching for great eats, drinks, shops, and things to do? Here are a few recommendations in Joshua Tree Village, less than a 10-minute drive away:
• Start your day at The DEZ with a coffee and baked good
• Marvel at the handiwork at the World Famous Crochet Museum
• Pick up some lunch or a souvenir from the Joshua Tree Certified Farmers' Market, open Saturdays
• Perhaps close your day with the food, drinks and music offered at the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon

Up for a day trip? Don’t miss these area highlights - they’re worth the drive.
• Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (20-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art.
• Pioneertown (25-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue.
• The Integratron (30-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process.
• Palm Springs (50-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
• Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto.

Of course, let’s not forget about the essentials. Everything you need is within close driving distance:

Getting Around:
This is a remote location down dirt roads, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.

Other Things to Note:
• POOL AND HOT TUB HEATING:
- Your rental includes heating for the in-ground pool in May and September.
- The hot tub is always free to heat.
- However, during the cooler months, there are extra charges for pool heating.
- If you want the pool heated during these months, please let us know before you arrive.

Extra Charges for Pool Heating:
October and April: $200 per night
November through March: $300 per night
January and February: Pool heating is not available

No jumping, diving, running or rough play near the pool and hot tub area. No glass can be around the pool and hot tub, there are plastic cups in the kitchen to be used outside. Please mind the quiet hours (no loud noises after 10pm). No intoxicated persons may use the pool or hot tub. NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

• EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted.

• PETS: This home is a pet free environment and pets are not permitted.

• CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.

Interaction with Guests:
Our property manager, Homestead Modern, is local and has staff available from 9am-9pm.

Weekend Getaway

My wife and I arrived on Friday night the temps were low and the wind was strong. The house was warm and inviting and the hot tub was great! The views, night sky and JTNP was very nice. The weather turned for the better and we enjoyed the propane fire pit and had a wonderful stay. Any questions were answered promptly by the host. We highly recommend this home.

Perfect Retreat for a Couple.

A really fantastic little house with great views and tranquility. It was just my wife and myself, and the house was perfect for us. We used it to relax and recover after hiking in the park. The grounds are really private and peaceful. We watched rabbits and hares, squirrels, birds, and even a coyote walked right past us one night. The pool and spa were a great way to relax and unwind. The house has everything you need and communication was both easy and super friendly. We would stay here again for sure.
