Long View, Waternish

Long View is exceptional in it's location and in it's presentation.
Built to enhance comfort throughout, with a large social area in the open plan kitchen/living/ dining area, a great layout for entertaining.
2 king bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom ( 2 single beds). 3 shower rooms.
A study with spectacular views is located in the middle of the upstairs of the house. A fairly unique feature in a holiday home.
Fully functional kitchen.
Incredible views from every room looking out over the 3 islands to the west of Waternish and further.
The property is in a dark skies area,so star gazing when the weather is clear is awe inspiring.
A real treat, not to be missed.

May trip to Skye

This house is incredible. It exceeded all of our expectations for our trip to Skye. The views are incredible. All of the beds were very comfortable. The checkin and check out prcoess was very efficient. I highly recommend Long View at Waterish.

Great view, but issues

We had a great trip to Scotland, but our experience with this rental could have been much better. We initially booked a separate rental owned by this owner. However, a few weeks after our booking was confirmed we were notified that it was being canceled because the owner wished to use the property for our dates. We were offered this property as an alternative. It was disappointing that this happened. We were told that the rate would be matched, but we ended up being accidentally charged a higher rate for this property that we were rebooked with. We were refunded but due to the exchange rate, we ended up not receiving the full amount we paid. I understand the owner does not have control over exchange rates but after the disappointment of being rebooked this added further frustration to the process. As for the property itself — it has outstanding views. The house is very modern and updated. However, upon checkin we noticed not all of the toilets were cleaned. There was also a food stain in the refrigerator. We also noticed oil dripping from the vent fan over the stovetop. This would be a perfect property if it were better maintained. Part of being able to relax on vacation is feeling you are in a clean place. We did not get this feeling while there. I notified the owner of this the evening we checked in but did not hear back until two days later. We very much enjoyed the views, we will rebook elsewhere when we return to Skye.

Ethereal Magic

Our group had a consensus that this is absolutely the most gorgeous place any of us have ever stayed. Comfortable and modern, yet entwined timelessly with the land, everything was thoughtfully and beautifully arranged..an aesthetic masterpiece. We never wanted to leave! Hope to stay for far longer next time.

Beautiful property, wonderful stay

This property was absolutely stunning. We stayed three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Our family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids (ages, 11, 14, and 16) used this property to explore the Isle of Skye during a two week vacation in Scotland. The views from the huge windows were breathtaking. It is such a peaceful location. The house itself was spacious and clean. With a 5 of us it's always a challenge to find a property where we are comfortable. With 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, everyone was able to have their own space. The washer and dryer were essential as this was the midway point of our trip and we had quite a bit of laundry to do. The only suggestion we have is to provide instructions for how to use the stovetop. We had to Google the model to learn how to use it. We would love to return to Skye and stay in this property again.

The definition of picture perfect

One of the most remarkable places I’ve ever stayed, it’s definitely a journey to get out to the house, but the views were amazing, the house was exactly as described, and communication was great. Highly recommended!

Beautiful home and great location on Isle of Skye

This house was perfect for 6 adults. It was very clean and had all the kitchen equipment we needed. The location is great for touring Isle of Skye. Wish we could have stayed a few days longer!

Absolutely fantastic!!

Long View exceeded our expectations. This property and location had it all. Immaculate and well curated accommodation with spectacular views and lovely walks. Be sure to check out the Stein Inn and Loch Bay restaurant just a stones throw away. I highly recommend this wonderful property!

Very relaxing stay! The home is beautiful! Has everything you need! Location is remote with amazing views. 5 minutes from town where we ate at Blas Cafe, food was great service was awesome! Great stay!

Spectacular view!

House was perfect for our group of 5 adults! A very well designed home with private, spacious bedrooms each with their own washroom. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and socializing and we enjoyed every meal looking out the large windows to the spectacular view! Highly recommended by all 5 of us!!

Perfection

Long View is amazing inside but the real stunner is definitely the views!! Wow!! Could not get over the beauty outside of ALL the windows that face the water (and most of them do!) If you want to stay someplace on Isle of Skye that will take your breath away this is it! We cannot wait to return!

Breathtaking views and a gorgeous home! With these views, it almost makes it hard to leave to tour the isle. :-) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Family reunion in Skye

We loved Long View, what a beautiful home! So comfortable and well equipped, such amazing location, could not have been more perfect. We cooked together, took walks and went on outings together, and this home house accommodated both private time for each couple as well as plenty of space for shared time. We met local Waternish folks and loved watching as new lambs were born every day! We will all treasure our time together in this gorgeous home. Thanks to our hosts for providing absolutely everything needed for our comfort and enjoyment.

Beautiful spot

My husband, two teens, and mom had a wonderful stay at Longview for four nights in August 2022. The view was spectacular. There was someone staying in the adjacent rental, but we never saw or heard them. There is a rooster on their other side, so bring earplugs if you don't want to be up at the crack of dawn! The road was quiet and provided lovely walks each evening. For the first two days, it was unseasonably warm, so it would have been nice to have had some lounge chairs outside (there is only a picnic table, but plenty of room for more seating). The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar were provided. We did find there wasn't much space to store unrefrigerated foods, so had to improvise a little. I had thought there was a king size bed in one of the bedrooms, but the larger beds are all queens, so my large husband and I were somewhat cramped. The bathrooms and showers were all wonderful. Several fans were supplied for warm weather. Plenty of closet space was available for clothing. There are lots of books, so not necessary to bring your own. The sofa in the TV room is incredibly big, soft, and comfortable, and I considered sleeping on it more than once! All in all we had a wonderful stay, and would definitely return.

Outstanding

Our trip to Skye was many years in the making due to the pandemic. I had very high expectations and this home did not disappoint! It exceeded them in fact! We comfortably stayed as a family of five (kids age 6 years, 3 years, and 5 months) plus my parents, so 4 adults and three children altogether. We had plenty of space. The home was very comfortable, clean, well kept, and views were AMAZING. Only thing I would have changed was it was a bit of a drive to Portree but Dunvegan has some nice shops and restaurants and is only about a 10 minute drive from the house. Would highly recommend this property to anyone and hope to visit again!
