"I reserved using expedia.com. The pictures shown on the site where not the actual reservation. I arrived and they had no idea which villa I had reserved, even though I had called to confirm in advance. The villa they said I paid for was not the one on presented on the website. They told me that the one I thought I reserved was a $200 more dollars. I ended up paying $50.00 not to stay in the room they gave me. I had reserved a Deluxe Villa. It was NOT Deluxe by any means. The Villa I ended up...

"Very spacious and comfortable home…the best part was the pool and the view! Very safe complex, super attentive and responsive staff (Maria was great!). Everything in the home worked properly and the entire process from booking to checking out was very smooth. Definitely recommend!."

"Very authentic experience. Right on beach, close to restaurants and Porto Belo. Host is easy to communicate with, very responsive. Place is very basic, safe, and cannot beat the location."

"The furnishings are worn. The second bedroom is only suitable for small children. The house is only a few metres from a busy main road with noisy traffic. The beach is unattractive. The water is too shallow for swimming. And the house is NOT in the “historic centre” of Portobelo, which is several kilometres away and consists of the ruins of a fort and a church. We were so disappointed we left after one night."

"Rachel (the property owner) is the BEST! The car I rented couldn’t get up the steep driveway and she was there immediately to offer help. The views from the house are spectacular. We spent most of our time outside because there is a nice breeze off the ocean. I can hear howler monkeys. "
