Doug Fraser Artist Loft Suite

It is like sleeping in a painting! From your balcony or hot tub, enjoy sweeping views of the ocean, lingering sunsets, and my sculpture garden while listening to the sounds of nature in this creative space. Our home and your suite is located just 4 km from the village of Inverness, the Cabot golf courses, a 3 mile white sandy beach and a 30 second walk to my art gallery. It has been described by travellers as peaceful, relaxing, romantic yet close to the action! Your cozy suite is located on the top floor of our home with your own private entrance. Your sitting room, kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom with a balcony is separated from our living space.

Our property is yours to enjoy. Take a stroll or do some meditation in my sculpture garden. Take advantage of the fire pit, barbecue and of course the hot tub is yours to enjoy on your own. I welcome visits to the gallery to talk art or provide directions and advice on your adventure.

Other nearby attractions include Cabot Golf and resort, fine restaurants, Glenora Distillery, hiking trails, trans Canada trail, harness racing, beautiful white sandy beach with the warmest waters north of the Carolinas. Summer water temps reach 22 degrees c.

I live here with my wife Carrie and our cat. Our kids have launched and we look forward to sharing our slice of artistic heaven.

Staying here was good for my soul. The loft was decorated in a simply beautiful and welcoming manner and had everything that we needed in a small space. There were so many lovely touches that made our stay perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting outside to see the stars. Visiting with Doug was a joy and he made us feel at home. I wish that we would have had more time to stay.

We had a very relaxing stay at Doug's loft suite. It's a very peaceful property. The hot tub definitely made this a 5 star place to stay. So relaxing and peaceful watching the sunset and then the stars at night. The room is a bit small but quaint and has everything you need including a small fridge, sink, dishes etc. and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely return the next time we visit the area. Thanks Doug!

The Hosts and the Accomodations both came with high praise and both certainly delivered. Doug and Carrie were very personable and made us feel at home. We stayed just for one night but would have loved to have stayed longer to fully experience this incredible property! It was such a beautiful location with art pieces everywhere you looked. The host was incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! The hot tub was a definite treat after a cool day hiking and the stars at night… wow! A lovely artistic experience

From the moment you pull into the driveway you are surrounded by art. This beautiful property has a view of the ocean and town of Inverness, while also being within striking distance of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The cozy, well equipped, loft is perfect for couples with access to a hot tub on the patio. The host, Doug Fraser, is an accomplished artist, welcoming and supportive to fellow artists and enthusiasts. Highly recommend taking the gallery tour to gain a greater appreciation of the artistic experience of this relaxing local.

Wonderful stay

Doug's loft apartment was perfect for our quick stay, however, it could accommodate a longer stay with everything you would need. The views beautiful, the loft comfortable and clean, the kitchen adequate, and Doug's gallery and outside art sculptures made it a unique stay. The hot tub a bonus!

Wish we stayed longer

If you are considering staying at this location, don’t wait any longer. Just book. It’s an incredible property in a great location. The unit is well appointed and has everything you could want for a few night stay. The hosts communication was incredible and extremely friendly and inviting. The drive to nearby Inverness is 5 minutes, but you will have a hard time leaving the porch with the Ocean views. I highly recommend this spot.

Wonderful suite and lovely hosts!

We spent one night at Doug and Carrie’s suite after a game of golf nearby. The suite is cute, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. We loved watching the sun set over the ocean from the hot tub on the deck! Had a great sleep in the comfy bed and really enjoyed a fantastic tour of the art gallery and sculptures with Doug who is an incredible artist! Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area! Thank you Doug and Carrie for a wonderful stay!

Amazing!!

I loved everything about this beautiful spot! The apartment is laid out wonderfully, and it was fully equipped with everything we could want. The views were spectacular, whether it was sunny or raining. We really enjoyed all interesting scupltures on the ground, abd even a visit by the owners' enormously fluffy cat. And the hot tub was sublime. We felt completely private, even with the owners right next door. They respected out privacy completely (and we, theirs). I would happily have stayed longer, and hope to return! Thank you!
