"The property itself is lovely, but the neighborhood has seen better days. The city other than the one street with the cafe and mural seems to be vacant and there isn’t much to do for a family with young children other than the park with the light house. But like I said, the home was lovely."

"We are not strangers to the area, my wife having grown up in the area, but each time we stay on the Chesapeake we feel at home. The Hideaway is so nice that you don't want to go back your actual home! It is furnished as if it is a year-round residence, no cheap or mismatched furniture and appliances. We enjoy cooking and the kitchen is has everything you need and it works. The yard and amenities are top notch. If you enjoy bird watching, sit in the back yard and take in the bird activity...

"The location was perfect, our host was extremely responsive and helpful. Chris gave us tips and set us up with the ferry Captain. Even though the large restaurant was closed there are 2 chefs that prepare wonderful meals! The srore/museum was ooen go meet the sweet manager! Thank you Chris for a wonderful family vacation!"

"Brett was by far the best host I’ve ever interacted with on VRBO. There was consistent communication before, during, and after our stay to make sure I had the best experience possible. The cabin was also wonderful. It is an old cabin with tons of charm and character. The water views are as awesome as the pictures show. Every morning and evening a bald eagle perched on a tree beside the property. If you love bird watching there was a wonderful showing there as well. I definitely plan on returning...

"From I moment I walked in the rental I was pleasantly surprised how spacious, clean and comfortable it was. It had a great color scheme that worked well together. I felt right at home with all the amenities. "

"We stayed here for 2 nights with 3 other couples. Bedrooms are very spacious. There are 2 rollaway beds and it looks like a pack n play as well for families with kids. Both couches pull out into beds. Everything was perfect for our needs. You can fit 3 cars in the front driveway but there’s also 2 spots available behind the house. You can also see the Bay from the front windows. Close to stores and gas as well. Would definitely recommend! "

"This house is huge and has lots of different indoor and outdoor gathering spaces so the kids and adults in our group of three families didn’t have to be on top of each other in one living space the whole time. Big firepit area and huge lawn were great, and we enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. There’s a place to buy fresh crabs, oysters, and shrimp very close by, and the house has everything you need for a crab night. The owner was incredibly responsive and kind."

"Soul enriching location. The dock, the fresh eggs, the local GBH, and night sky all contribute. Quick access to Blackwater NWR. The furnishings and kitchen accessories are adequate. The microwave door no longer closes correctly and has to be pushed until the fan stops. None of that matters because of the location. "
