This characterful house features a turreted staircase and is just a short walk from the beach.. Ground Floor:

Bedroom 2: 3 x Single (3ft) Beds Ensuite: Bath With Shower Attachment, Toilet

Bedroom 3: Double (4ft 6in) Bed, (Jack And Jill En-Suite, Shared With Bedroom 2). Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Courtyard with terrace and garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking. Please note: There are 4 steps in the courtyard. This property has a security deposit of £150.. This characterful, 1880’s Arts and Crafts property, with a turreted staircase, is one of a row and was once part of a larger house. It was allegedly the home to the mistress of one of the Le Strange family who designed and built the resort of Hunstanton in the 19th century. It has been renovated to provide more bedroom space, open plan living and an additional bathroom. There is a large, spacious, open plan living/dining room and a 17th-century stone fireplace, with a cosy wood burner for those chilly evenings. The house is situated on quiet Boston Square next to the beautiful Sensory Garden, and just a short walk from the cliff top, beach, shops, restaurants, a deli and other amenities. Shops, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Mistress's House and appreciated the welcome basket on arrival which was a nice touch. I was surprised that there was no hairdryer in the property and the BBQ looked as though it hadn't been used or checked for ages. One of the legs had broken so had to prop it up. There was no clothes washing detergent either. Small things I know but it certainly wasn't a cheap place to stay. The beds were very comfortable and the back of the house got the evening sun on the decking so was a nice place to sit out with a drink. All in all a great stay in this quirky house with an interesting history.

Lovely couple of weeks spent here. Cottage is lovely and spacious. Well maintained and within walking distance of the town and seafront. When the weathers good the deck out back gets the afternoon sun. Only one real negative would be the plastic cereal bowels (not good for making porridge this time of year). Lovely house, great location.

Lovely house, great location. Owner very helpful. Layout of the house could be a problem with the bathroom between 2 bedrooms. Also, the spiral staircase is steep and narrow. Nice to have an outside area to sit in, it was quite a sun trap, but the lower outside area was too overgrown to use. Overall would definitely recommend this property. It is nicer and more spacious than it appears on the photos. Also, don't be put off by the fact that there is no parking outside the property.
