This was one of the worst experiences through VRBO. We booked this property well in advance, this was supposed to be our last family vacation and celebration for my son's graduation. One week before our trip, the host reached out and stated this specific property was unavailable, but he offered 2 other properties, a mobile home and a smaller unit 2bec, 2bath. A little annoying, but I accepted the smaller unit. The day of the trip I messaged the host to ask how to access the property since we were soon to be on the road, he stated he would send it shortly. I let him know our ETA. When we hit Houston I checked VRBO messages and I had a message waiting stating that the 2 properties were no available and he would like to offer yet another property at this point I am very annoyed and I let him know and asked for the code. He let me know the property was under maintenance. This absolutely pissed me off, then why offer those properties? So I responded that I would just like a full refund, because at this point I didn't trust this person or anything else from him. This is absolutely bad business and he should not be a host. I contacted VRBO because, of course, the trip can't be cancelled because it's the day of. They read the correspondence and cancelled the trip and issued a refund. Very annoyed with this whole encounter. Do not put your property up for rent if it's not actually available.

There were multiple problems with this property. The smell of urine was the first thing I noticed. The floors were not swept well, the back patio door was jammed and could not be closed or opened fully. The bathtub was not clean. There were pest inside and trash outside. There was no privacy in the back yard. We left immediately and booked a stay in a hotel.
