"The forest and the wildlife are the reason for staying here so in that respect this place gets 10 out of 10. We did a birding tour and a night walk and took advantage of the free nature walk. The latter was conducted by Joel and I strongly encourage people not to pass on this even though they may have other tours booked. "My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed La Finca Azul, and especially the family whose vision it is -- including Nacho, Oli, and Cece, the three dogs. I've stayed in agroturismos in Italy, and this was a very similar experience, complete with the fabulous food. I'm pretty sure Italy doesn't offer swimming by yourself in a mountain stream surrounded by the echoes of howler monkeys. "

"Very nice property with stunning flora and fauna. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast - fresh fruits, eggs, housemade toast and jam, rice and beans as well as a fresh coconut - was delicious, especially the coffee. I only stayed one night and had to leave early in the morning, wish I had more time here but plan to be back next time. "

Dining was very good which is nice since the lodge is a bit out of the way from other options. "This was an inexpensive option for our family to stay in Sarapiqui.
