This beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch sits on Rocky Fork Lake and boasts a large living room, eat-in kitchen, and 4 seasons room! Enjoy an evening playing basketball on your very own basketball court followed by smores around the firepit! This home has lake access and is a 5 minute walk via trails to the dock! The house is complete with everything you need to enjoy! Pet friendly (dogs only) with additional fee. Please make sure to check in your pets!

A Bird Watcher’s Dream!

During our stay we listed 51 bird species on eBird checklists in the area around the house and on the short walk to the lake! The house is lovely and clean and has a very accommodating layout. We enjoyed having dinner on the patio in the private backyard surrounded by large trees. We were in the area attending the Mothapalooza event at the nearby Highlands Nature Sanctuary hosted by the Arc of Appalachia Preserve System. Many of their beautiful preserves and trails are a short drive from the house. I had some initial questions upon arrival which our host promptly and satisfactorily addressed. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Spacious and Comfortable

The house was so roomy and provided everything we needed and more. The landlord was also very helpful and quick to answer. There were so many areas to relax and spend time together as a family. I will definitely try to book this house again in the future.

Excellent Property

Overall this property was great. There was so much space for a long weekend trip and a lot to do. The backyard was shaded by the mature trees and we enjoyed the basketball court and fire pit. This was very close and convenient to drive to the docks. Highly recommend this property, especially for families.

Great Getaway

Quick, helpful owner responses made our stay great. Quiet, cozy, and clean--we enjoyed the firepit and outdoor games. The lake was just a short drive away for our fishing weekend. We were not ready to go home!

Great Place to Stay to Beautiful Arc of Appalachia Preserves

Super clean, comfortable and convenient to visit the Arc of Appalachia preserves nearby. There are several beautiful ones including the Highland Nature Sanctuary. The pups loved it too. The kitchen was well-stocked, beds comfortable and nice sun-room and back-yard.

Lovely, quiet spot

We stayed for a weekend when we needed a pet friendly place in the area. The house is as advertised. I liked how well lit it was outside and all of the outdoor space. We didn’t do much in the area as we were there for a wedding. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!

Lake House Hillsboro, Ohio

Clean and attractive house near Rocky Fork State Park. Plenty of seating, entertainment and recreation on the property. Nice outdoor basketball court. Saw a family of wild turkeys in the back yard this morning as we were getting ready to leave. This is the first time I have ever rented a house short term, but the agent (Rico) made the process seem simple and answered all of my questions. Really a positive experience.

Perfect getaway

The house was spacious and the property was also with plenty of room inside and outside too. Close to the boat ramps, gas stations and several eating locations. The kitchen was very well stocked for us to cook several meals and was equipped with what was needed. The beds were comfortable and each room had a nice down home feeling as the house was nice and clean. Indoor seating options, sunroom and also seating outside on the patio or front porch, plenty of space. The Bathrooms were nice and clean and fully equipped and we will be looking to stay here again in the future.

nice house but needed better cleaning

House was nice and we really enjoyed the trail to the lake and the yard/firepit. The 4-seasons room was not clean when we got there - I swept up a dustpan FULL of dirt, pet hair, cobwebs; thick cobwebs under barstool. Dishwasher was still full of dishes, one shelf of towels in linen closet were in a crumpled bunch so we weren't really sure if clean or not. Some cabs in kitchen had outdated opened food so couldn't really use the cabs for our own stuff so it all stayed out on the counters Other than that initial bad first impression, we did have a nice weekend there.

Nice Getaway

This was our first time going to Rocky Fork Lake and we picked the perfect place to stay. Very clean and cozy, the property owner was extremely helpful when I had questions. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay we had a wonderful time just hanging out and fishing. We ever get back to the area, we would stay there again.

Lake House in Ohio

Owner was very helpful and communicative. Property was easy to access and had nice appliances and amenities. There was a really nice fire pit and even a basketball court for the kids. We were there in Fall but this would be a really lovely summer place to visit. We would definitely stay again in any season.

Rico was a great host, great property and location.

Updated, nice, clean house and property. Rico was very responsive and a great host. Tons of games for the kids was a us. Very close to boat launch. Only reason for just the for 4 stars for accuracy of listing was that I mistakenly assumed that given the boat dock was pictured, the boat slips came with the rental, which was incorrect. This was my error and should have looked into further. If you want to keep your boat on the water, you need a daily permit through the State Park. Overall, great experience and would reccomend. We'll be back!
