"Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. "This hotel is in a very old Tudor style building with heaps of charm and quirkiness. This is a popular and busy pub/restaurant/hotel. Our room was on the top floor with access by stairs with high risers. The double bedroom was small with only one bedside table and no cupboards and only one stool so it is best suited to a one night stay. The room was clean and tidy with again the charm of an uneven floor which is not a problem just be aware. As the room is close to the roof it can get very warm...

"Amazing break! Staff all friendly. Food in main restaurant was amazing and had a great massage at spa by Hannah. Spa was all lovely and clean and not overcrowded. The only thing was the relaxation room was not open after our massage as we chose the last session. The pastries at breakfast were not worth the calories as a bit stodgy. Other dishes were absolutely amazing. Thanks"

"Stayed for one night, with my son, for a Mazda MX5 car meet up in the car park- the reason for our stay. The hotel is very nice. We had a meal in the Savvy Fox - i like the decor. The meal was very nice - but not cheap. The twin room was very basic, but was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. "We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards.
